Still early days but I'm glad he's off to a positive start and proving his ability. Long may it continue for him too!

Good for Corey. Maybe Panthers won’t be the only ones to benefit from him moving on. Broadened experience never hurt any coach.

Nottingham was his first coaching job, and he brought us more trophies than we could possibly imagine. On a personal note, hockey is more to me than sport alone, it's a social thing. And I've enjoyed some of the best nights, days and weekends of my life in no small part thanks to the guy. I'll always wish him well

Nothing unusual about Corey having a good September!
All the best to him/them though.

He was being sarcastic Yotes. Don’t think anybody really gives a stuff though. Actually, plenty of us do. So may I speak for us that do, we don’t want to read your anti Corey comments. This is for us to discuss his situation in Germany and have reasoned discussion, not for you to tell us how much you don't give a stuff about Corey even though you’re spending your Sunday night commenting on a post about him!

Wish him well but we were top of the league last year for a bit and everyone said it was our year...

Corey Nelson may not have been perfect - who of us is? - but one fact is totally beyond dispute... under his leadership the Nottingham Panthers won more silverware than at any other time in their history... including the long-awaited league title. No other coach achieved what he did. No other coach came close. And all of that starting from scratch as player, then player/coach, then coach. No coaching experience in another league, no 'leg up', just starting at the bottom and working up. That deserves respect. So... I also am glad to hear that things appear to be going well for him in Germany. Good luck to him.

I also am glad to hear that things appear to be going well for him in Germany. Good luck to him. All true Shags but to me that's just one side of the story.. He also had the most facilities and resources available to any previous coach in Nottingham and could be argued in the country. He had many seasons where the competition was very restricted i.e. between just a couple of clubs yet still failed in all but one to get the league title. He made rookie mistakes as coach even in his last year such as playing players out of position or rotating lines just because he knew best. Other teams for many years did not take the challenge cup seriously and the playoffs have been held in Nottingham both giving panthers a much better chance at winning trophies. We had season after season where we were told we had to take a lack of success as he was a rookie and learning the trade rather than bringing in a seasoned veteran who would not need to do that. Finally after winning the league rather than going on to build on that team we scrapped the lot... not a way to create a dynasty.. I do wish CN well in his latest venture and thank CN for the success we had and that first challenge cup win in Sheffield was such a fantastic day but he was a very long way from what a coach in Nottingham should have achieved in the years he was in charge imho...

I wanted Corey out for years, doesn't mean I don't wish him well.

Not overly surprising to see a thread about Corey Neilson become infected with the usual contagion from certain posters; I certainly didn’t think he was devoid of criticism, but Jesus, why do folks feel the need to offer critiques that have been said a million times already...
Well played to him with his new team.

The lack of respect shown by some to Corey after all he achieved here is shocking, we won next to nothing before he arrived, look at the memories and nights he gave us. Yes he may of stayed a couple of seasons too long but that hasn't dented his legacy, take a look at yourselves and give him the respect he deserves!

He’s gone into the Eisbaren Berlin system, taken charge of a team expected to be in the lower reaches of DEL2 and coached them to the top of the division. For that alone he deserves plaudits & respect IMO.
