I should be happy in fact I am but I am pretty fed up too, and the reason I am fed up as it is clear even this early in the season we are best of the rest but Cardiff with the squad signed are head and shoulders above everyone else. We might have lost by the odd goal but it was a pretty relentless game on panthers net, I am convinced if panthers had signed that squad we would be accused of buying the league and causing an arms war that would ruin ice hockey in Britain but since its in Cardiff it seems all is ok.. As much as I hate to admit it I am hoping that they get some season ending injuries as I see this as the only chance other teams have to catch up. I hope I am wrong but I cant see any other result come the end of the season other than a devils triple and well done to them for putting the team ahead of profits... Let’s see how we match up to Cardiff when we play them at home, we’ve only played one competitive game against them so far and it was close. Anyway back to the game, still overjoyed with the result, I thought despite conceding 3 goals we were solid at the back, Garnett also had a great game, we scored some beautiful goals, roll on Saturday!

Good win and some nice goals. Good to see you back on the forum Rob, haven't heard much from you. How's it gone with watching games this season? I hope you have been able to bring your lad with no hassle Thanks mate. We made a pre season game when we got some free tickets. I made the Sheffield home and Manchester game but can't get this weekend. The boy has lost interest a little bit. He got into Forest after Christmas but hopefully get him along to a few games this season. I've lost the passion to be honest and it did feel a bit weird watching. I barely stood up when we scored the late winner against the Storm but can't seem to shake it all together. Hopefully i'll gradually get it back.

The only downfall you got is doty who I think you don't need and can upgrade on. I think Doty has been excellent so far this season.

Doty came in with a lot of nervousness from the fan base after being on a very poor clan team despite the fact he picked up 35 points which ain’t bad for a “goon”. I also think a lot of criticism came from the fact Gagnon did a number on him but other than faryna no one came away unscathed from Gagnon last year. Very pleased with his contribution and long may it continue.

I also think we need to remember that Cardiff have only made a few new signings, their time has chemistry built up over 2/3 years where as ours is 2/3 months. Not every player on our team will shine but I'd like to think that we'll only need 3 maybe 4 new signings next summer to be really battling Cardiff. I don't think we're too far away from the right now anyway. For his first season in the UK I think rich is doing a great job so far.

It's not. Doty has looked pretty good so far. He's not going to be one of our top points scorers by any means, but as a supporting player he looks the business so far. And we need players like him... grinders, physical types (as long as they keep it sensible), agitators and - least IMO but still needed - a waiting pair of fists should the need arise. A team just full of snipers isn't going to cut it... Doty looks to be an integral part of the full team recipe.

It’s the Wife’s birthday on Wednesday though so won’t be able to make it.
