Now I do I recall some people saying that there was a lack of goals in the roster? I think it was reasonable to to be a tad concerned. We had a few wait and see signing up front. Kovacs Guptil Hurtabise Pither Have all been great so far so we're not struggling for goals. Would like to see Perlini get back to his scoring ways.

the first goal has now been corrected to PP I emailed Mr.Lowry....but they may have noticed themselves. EDIT: just got an email back from him to say thanks and that they'd correct it. Can you email Calum and get him to update Panthers website league table. It was wrong before tonight’s game,it’s been updated after tonight’s game.....and it’s still wrong ! 🙄

Now I do I recall some people saying that there was a lack of goals in the roster? About the same number of people who said our defence looked rock solid, but we've still conceded 3 goals in the 3rd period for a 3rd straight game. At least this time we gave ourselves a big head start!

Understand what a lot of people are saying regarding the 3rd period, especially after the weekends games but we only lost that last period 3-2, and 2 of their goals were on the PP.
Superb result, nice market for Belfast early on. Rissling was fantastic as was Garnett. 6/8 points from our 4 away games, not perfect but not to be sniffed at in all honesty. Bring on Braehead! (yes yes I know)

I'll take that... and with a big cheesy grin! A lot of people are touting 3 teams as being front-runners for silverware this season... Belfast, Cardiff and Nottingham. Well - we lost to Cardiff by 1 goal and beat Belfast by 3... both in their own barns. That's not exactly shabby. The potential trend of having a poor 3rd period is definitely cause for some concern and needs to be addressed PDQ... but even despite that, we're looking pretty good. And yet again - distributed scoring... 6 goals from 5 players. No out-and-out goalscorers? - as if!

You had been "a tad concerned " with at least 4 more players to come in. Interesting to see the line Perlini is on - perhaps as he gets used to this there will be more goals.

Excellent win Panthers but shame about the Giants 3rd Yes - a bit of the 3rd period syndrome again. Risling I thought looked the pick - Lepine also good Lepine looked better but Rissling is going to be pretty special. He was excellent last night.

2.0 up yes. Cruising no chance. You clearly didn't watch the game. In any sport you can have more shots more possession but only the result matters

I should be happy in fact I am but I am pretty fed up too, and the reason I am fed up as it is clear even this early in the season we are best of the rest but Cardiff with the squad signed are head and shoulders above everyone else. We might have lost by the odd goal but it was a pretty relentless game on panthers net, I am convinced if panthers had signed that squad we would be accused of buying the league and causing an arms war that would ruin ice hockey in Britain but since its in Cardiff it seems all is ok..
As much as I hate to admit it I am hoping that they get some season ending injuries as I see this as the only chance other teams have to catch up. I hope I am wrong but I cant see any other result come the end of the season other than a devils triple and well done to them for putting the team ahead of profits...

I really think your going over the top texpef.
Man for man Panthers are equal to the devils.
Its just we have signed the majority of the championship team back which always helps n experience my tell that is all.
I mean hurtibse is gonna be a scoring !machine along with pithers this year.
guptill and kovacs look really good players too.
As most have said on here garnett is most prob better than bowns but i don't think so.
Olsen is also really strong n seems to be on the ice every time I score.
The only downfall you got is doty who I think you don't need and can upgrade on.

You don't wish injuries (season ending or otherwise) on people! Give your head a wobble. To the point I think you were trying to make - yes, Cardiff seem to have taken their recruitment very seriously this year and I think the CHL is a big factor in that if they can grow their brand in Europe by consistently being in that competition and be seen to be improving. I don't think that means we have no chance of finishing above them however. I think one of the biggest factors in their success is keeping a significant core of their squad together from year to year and making incremental improvements. Not something we have really done in recent years. Rich has come in a rebuilt the squad whilst keeping a few key personnel around, we'll have to wait and see what his policy will be leading into next season but I hope we can adopt a similar approach to Cardiff because keeping that core of your team together from one season to the next gives you a good chance to hit the ground running at the beginning of the season.

We also have 2 players to bring in too. Faryna is out for a few months. Richardson is injured but should be back soon.

I don’t really get this whole new squad thing being massively disruptive, yes it helps to bring a decent core back but we’ve all had a good months training camp and a decent run of pre season games. Look at Sheffield, they’re making excuses for a poor start laying the blame on that they’ve got virtually a whole team of new imports. Now look at Panthers great start with guess what.... yep virtually a whole team of new imports !!!! Sheffield brought one import back and Panthers brought back only two.
Panthers are doing well,I don’t think there will be much between them and the Devils at the end of the season. The team who stays healthy will win the league.

Shall we bring this back to the game and put in a thread about comparisons in squads in another? Whilst I disagree with Tex’s opinion, it is a valid point of discussion (apart from the season ending injuries)
