So Guptill is out injured, not a great start to the season I’d say!
Why oh why couldn’t we have a spare... could end up costing us!

Assuming just a precaution. They were bleating about full squad training on Thursday/Friday so maybe the flu or something.

A man short and we still knocked Sheffield aside. We ran four lines tonight and when Guptill comes back we will pose even more of a threat, let’s look at the positives for now.

Were we short of quality players last night, who can step up to cover slots? I would suggest we won and we won well so at the moment at least we have enough cover for short term issues.
We can always find a reason to be negative which is why there is so much negativity in the world, why not do our best to be positive and see what happens?

You never go through a full Season without players missing games. That is why people want us to carry a spare.
Whilst it didn't cause any real harm against Sheffield. However would we get away with it against Cardiff, Belfast...etc.
We've seen in the past that going short benched for a sustained period of time cost us points but I think that Cherno will not allow it to happen and bring a player in if there is going to be a player injured for a while

Been saying it for years mate.....people just think I’m moaning. 🙄 It could also not matter at all. The average bench strength last year in the league was 18.53 skaters per game. That's (crudely) 4 full lines and 6 D with a bit to spare (on average). Only 6 of the 56 league games were played with 17 skaters (17 being the lowest bench strength Panthers had overall). Not exactly Capitals territory is it? The amount of (quality) Brits Panthers have, they shouldn't "need" a spare import for the season, IMHO. You may disagree.

It’s not Cardiff territory either and they are the current benchmark we need to match.

What, sign a player who leaves 3 days later? Panthers need to better them, not match them. Quite how, I'll leave to the coach.
