Just confirmation that he's not backing out of the deal I guess, which players do.

Given that contracts mean naff-all in British ice hockey, I for one am mightily relieved to hear this. Robert Farmer gets a lot of stick, only a small amount of which is actually deserved. When we first signed him, I wasn't too happy - back then he was too much of a loose cannon for my liking. Well - I was wrong. He's improved himself as a player, and can now legitimately be called a proper power forward. He would be an asset to any team in this country and in quite a few other countries too. It's ironic that I was sat behind some rock-headed Coventry fan at the GB warm-up game in Coventry last month, and the numpty was harping on about how useless Farmer was... how when Farms was coming out of the penalty box, GB "weren't" back to full strength, etc etc. And who got the gold-medal-winning goal on Saturday? Oh, let me think... Now, of course, to get the rest of the Brits back... bet we're going to have a fight on our hands to retain Perlini!

I reckon they have several signings backed up ready to go. If Farmer wasn’t flavour of the month by scoring the goal giving GB the gold medal and promotion they would probably have announced someone else.
When they announced Steve Lee I asked Calum Chalmers to confirm that Garnett, Farmer and Sauve were contracted for the coming season and he said he was not party to contract details or lengths.
So basically I would think it’s down to GM when/who gets announced.

Farmer was an easy one, both sides happy, tick the box, move on. GM has little to do with the player side of things. Announcements though for sure, yes. Expect more deals soon, Brits/second year imports.

I meant the timing of the announcement. As previously stated Farmer was on a multi year deal yet Calum said he had no knowledge of contract lengths. I don’t think he toook it upon himself to announce Farmer was back today do you?

Would Calum really tell you if he did know them...?!

Folks on here and other social media were saying we had Garnett, Farmer and Sauve back. I asked him for clarification since he posted about Steve Lee. My point was that if they were all signed why did the website only say Lee was on our roster. He replied he didn’t know contract details or length of contracts and posted when told.

They aren't all signed. They are all on 2nd yr optional. Sauve moved on, as all the others can to Europe. Anyone on social media linked to the club is hardly going to release information to such an audience. Whether they know it or not.

They’ll announce the signings when they want to, not when Dave from beeston tweets Calum!

Glad he is back but needs to get his mojo back like he did at the start of last season, obviously wasnt the only one who lost his mojo in the middle of last season but thats history now look to the future and heres hoping his UK tourney has given him some confidence back. As stated out mvp in terms of brits is clearly Perlini, its pretty much essential to retain all the brits but imho in particular Perlini who unless i am mistaken hasnt put pen to paper yet...

Glad to have him back as we all know "Multi-year contract" means "they might be here next year".

Pleased Rob’s back, he’s a terrific player when he get’s going. If he can get back to his form from 16/17 and be more of a nuisance then he’s going to be a key player for us this season.

Even though it was kind of stating the obvious by saying he was back, it's still a shot in the arm for us. If he can get back to his agitating best (which was sadly lacking in the second half of last season) of course. A 'quiet' Farmer is a shadow of the player he clearly can be.
Welcome back #19
