They've released a statement saying that they've got things wrong (understatement of the century) but are implementing a new board structure going forward AND THERE ARE 2 SPOTS ON IT FOR FAN REPRESENTATIVES

Probably can't muster up many officials and panned it out to fans.

Glad to see it looks like they will continue, but since it lacks in key substance and information, folk should very rightly remain cautious.

Are you watching Mr Black....fan representatives... Unfortunately you know that if the Panthers were to follow suit it'd be a couple of the brown-nosing cretins in those spots. The type who'd trip over themselves to get to the opening of a Panthers-branded envelope (good tickets still available). As for this from Edinburgh, without new money coming into the team, I fear this is just rearranging the decks chairs as the Caps slip beneath the Water of Leith.

Press release says this: "The Edinburgh Capitals Board have committed to a significant level of investment and are ready to begin implementing a robust business plan and stronger roster for next season." I'm assuming investment means financial. But I've seen all this before from Caps so the proof is going to be in the pudding.

No, they would only have REAL fans and happy clappers who have ALL of the players as "Facebook friends"

Seeing as The Caps look like they are staying, is it possible that The Elite League insist on someone overseeing them and if players start leaving again at a rapid rate and getting destroyed every week, could take over.
This season has to be the final time this ever happens

Sounds like certain watering hole landlord lol When they changed the name they should have chosen something more in keeping, perhaps 'The Sycophant Arms'?

Not that he's the most reliable of sources but David Rutherford (Former Cap, Current Giant) is basically saying he doesn't believe this change for the Caps will amount to much and that you'd be stupid to assume it will.

Thing is guys `n gals I dont know who I feel sorry for the most..fans or players Its must be so demoralising paying you pennies out, going to cheer your team on and for what. 5 wins in 54 As a player getting kitted up very game wondering how many goals against tonight 316 in 54 How can a cach motivate players to just turn up never mind play!! We moan and groan about our team but I know where I would sooner be..

We moan and groan about our team but I know where I would sooner be.. The motivation is simple enough. A junior brit might play enough games and gain the experience to earn a move to one of the better teams. For the imports its still a weekly pay packet, the chance to avoid having to get a proper job, and to carry on playing the game they love. And hope it improves next season. But yes, it must be soul destroying.

One for the stattos. Looking at the league table, does Edinburgh's 5-50-1 record make them the Elite League's worst ever team?

It’s got to be either this years Caps team or the London Racers.

I know I'm sad but just had a look, London Racers have a worse record
3 wins, 2 ties, 49 losses, 2 OT losses for a total of 10 points

Presume back then (before my time) we didn't do shootouts?
Shocking record for London, although Caps did manage more defeats still.

Hmmm, that's made me curious, how did ties occur if there was still OT. Did games go to OT for a set period of time and if no team scored then it was declared as a tie?

In the official stats there were 56 games of which 51 were in the loss column,3 wins and 2 OTL....there IS also a column stating 2 ties/draws...not sure why though. So it was 2 points a win = 6 pts 2 draws at a point each and 2 OL at 1 point each. You may be on the button there DonClaneone
