One of the poorest quality Panthers - Steelers games I've ever seen...two bang average teams going through the motions. You must have gone to the wrong game Higgy. Panthers O/s says “the biggest of rivals clashed as if a trophy was on the line” ! 😂😂🙄🙄 PMSL Somebody must have had too many £4.90 pints!

It was less rubbish than I was expecting, I couldn't say I was thrilled by it but I wasn't bored. First goal was odd, with Mok not wanting to take the high stick call and they immediately break and score. Poor from Garnett on the shorthander too it has to be said, he was pretty good otherwise. Think the Yorks are a little better on the puck than us, control it better. There's not much else between two very average teams though. Anyhow, that result means 10th March 2018 is Mathematical Day, well done Panthers you made it to March. (Realistic Day was obviously months ago.)

WTF were they playing at for the first goal. Not going to touch it because of a high stick and then let them poke it up ice for a 2 on 1. The sooner this season ends and some of this team bog off the better and Sauve had better be one of them because if he was bad before, tonight he was bloody awful. Muskovevs (sp) gives up more rebounds more than a trampoline, did we have anyone in front of net, nope and then as the clock runs down with an empy net we are still dumping it.

'Could be clarke's final game at nic v steelers'?? Did he need that before the game ? Are the club going to milk it for all it's worth. Couldn't they honour him properly after his final game ? I guess it's the last weekend game (bar the PO quarter) that we've got left, but it was rather odd. It was also very odd that those 2 jerseys just got given to Corey as-is, couldn't they have framed them or something? Put some bloody effort in.

The game played out just as expected the same way as it has in the previous 3 games. Sheffield sit off, absorb our pressure, we don’t capitalise, we make a mistake and gift them cheap goals. Simple. It will be exactly the same next Saturday.
I’ve been ranting and raving in the car on the way home about everything, I’m just fed up now, there’s no point dwelling on it.

I enjoyed the game, thought we played well in 2nd period, unlucky with s-h goal, and 3rd wasnt a penalty. Old failings on pp and looking for perfect shot cost us. 'Could be clarke's final game at nic v steelers'?? Did he need that before the game ? Are the club going to milk it for all it's worth. Couldn't they honour him properly after his final game ? I thought exactly the same with Clarke. Are they planning to do that with every game... ‘this could be DCs last game against Edinburgh...Fife...etc’ ?? Tonight could be everyone in that team’s final game against Steelers. Bizarre announcement, just give him the send on he deserves when appropriate.

More effort last night than I've seen in a while but we clearly aren't good enough, Steelers aren't exactly setting the league on fire and we didn't really trouble them that much they looked comfortable for large parts of the game. First goal- what was mok thinking? Steve Lee failed to control the pick at the blue line, gave them a break. Second goal- seemed to go through garnetts glove and in, very poor from him. At 3-2 down around 5 minutes to go we break 2on1 perlini and mosey, perlini passes across the crease leaving the net gaping for mosey, all's he's got to do is have his stick there to direct it in, he fans on it. Whoever said he deserves a place on the team because he's fast, really? 3 very basic mistakes cost us, without a fresh start roster wise I can't see us challenging the top next season either.

Our tendency to take reaction type penalties at critical times is unlike anything I've seen before.

Our tendency to take reaction type penalties at critical times is unlike anything I've seen before. Along with the inability to pass (this season has been the worst I can remember), inability to clear our zone, the worst Panthers PP I can remember and an inability to frequently score. Strange how forwards come to us with good scoring records, are very poor here then go to other teams and suddenly they are scoring again.

Two different people offered me a free ticket for last night but I just couldn't be bothered. Sounds like (once again) the players couldn't be bothered either.

But the sad fact is,they just aren't good enough. Seriously lacking in skill, plus give them a decent chance and they can't convert it,in fact most of them couldn't even finish their breakfast !

It simply happens to often to too many good players for it to just be about them. This group proved what it was capable early season, so I don't buy the idea that they ain't good enough. Motivation, engagment, Finding the pubs, tactics, senior managment. Any or many of those may be a reason. If it is down to attitude then many do need to move on. However as I started with and have said before, Too many players over many seasons have done the same. I'd actually like to see the majority of this team back(with a few tweaks) under a different coach and see what happens.

Funny that i got offered a free ticket to go to and turned it down... First time ever i have turned down a free ticket let alone against the steelers... Kinda sums up how low this team has sunk imho...

Regardless of how things are run they're still being paid to perform. There's only a couple of them id like back.

Plenty of fans saying it was a great game whilst belittling those who don’t agree.

Firstly of course it may be that that isn't the issue. If it is though you may go out there and put the effort in, but with sport in particular if you are missing that 1% or 2% it can make a massive difference to performance. They may be going out there not believing in the coaching systems. They are trying to work to it, but yoy'll never get the same output as a group of people who have bought into the plan. And truely believe it. I dont think that many good players have ended up with the poor seasons they've had here and it be down to bad attitude. If 10 of them for example do have a bad attitude (something we don't really know) then absoloutly they should be gone. Don't get me wrong, I won't shed a tear if 95% don't return. It'd just be intriguing to so the same group under a different coach.

I would love the black and gold tinted specs of anyone that thought that game was good. It was a game played out by 2 teams who have no real quality and are faltering in mid table deservedly. As for many weeks it was just another game to get out the way and am truly baffled how so many people still seemingly care as if these games are life and death. At least we know there is not long left for One of the most truly disappointing seasons in recent memory. I am looking forward to seeing some changes next season at least in personnel if nothing else.

I still turn up this season because of my ST and allows me to see people I otherwise wouldn't. I will also be there next season. But if it ends with me feeling the same as this I may make a different decision. Last night I went to the pub after the game. Usually it would be an hour of ranting and raving. Picking the performance apart etc, etc. Last night I don't think we even mentioned it. Instead we just had a few beers and a friendly chat almost oblivious to the game that had gone before. Thats what worries me most, i'm past caring.

There was a time when I would have been looking forwards to this match up for weeks in advance. I would be in my seat for th warm up, just in case something kicked off.
Now, I didn’t even bother to check the score till the next day.
There’s absolutely no rivalry, no edge, the players treat it as another game. The mouth pieces of each club are the only ones talking this up. Biggest rivalry in Europe, you’re having a laugh.
Panthers are so lucky to have the arena were it is, it papers over some massive cracks.

Some Twitterings that Simms was prevented from entering the arena for the game last night, dunno if that's true but if so, has Gary finally done something right?!

Its the first game I have been to for a couple of months. Before we went in what was noticeable was that there wasn't the security stop and search. I also have caught up on the news of the incident which had occurred at Salisbury. In these circumstances what was the stop and search all about pre Christmas?
