Isn’t the rink there going to be pulled down and turned into a hotel anyway? That was supposed to be the rugby ground site, they can't touch the ice rink as it's a listed building. They can't even revamp the rink due to that The murryfield rugby have still put in a bid to buy the rink.

On another topic. What idiot drew up our fixture schedule this season ? Last fifteen games of the season and TEN of them are against Scottish opposition.
Boring or what ! 🙄

Gary obviously forgot we'd be binning the league in December like usual. Most home games left are weeknights anyway.

By my reckoning, congratulations to Robert Lachowicz who surpases Chick Zamick all-time 'Games For' record for the club.

Got to have some sympathy for Capitals. They really need somebody to inject some money into the club, take it by the scruff of the neck and drive it forward. Edinburgh’s a large city with enough people to fill the Murryfield rink. Those currently in charge must be really lacking in many areas. To think what a mighty club Murrayfield were before this era.

Oh how the likes of Rick Fera, Kelland and the British player conveyor belt must be seething at the present state of affairs You keep rabbitting on about the good old days when there were loads and loads of Brits in every team. But were all these Brits actually any good ? Don't forget these guys played in teams where there were only what....3 imports ? I didn't watch this era,but having seen old stats, when you look at some of the points that the imports were scoring, absolutely ridiculous amounts like 70-80 goals and 140 points per season at an average of 3 or 4 points per game, one has to wonder if all these Brits were actually any good. They may have worked hard and put ther heart and soul into it,but were they good enough to play in say today's EIHL ? Stats would indicate that they wern't,apart from the odd few, unless the imports were really really great players, which i don't think they were.

The British players were very good ... such as Kelland and hunt as we're the imports!! What the difference was the goalies weren't due to the high amount of points outlay

Well as someone who remembers the seasons Simon is referring too, I can say yes, the players were good. Simon Hunt, Graham Waghorn, Ashley Tait, Nigel Rhodes, Matt Trickett to name but a few.

I remember having a post game beer in the Murrayfield hotel across from the rink and some of the locals in there didn't even know there was a local team, they asked me who we had played ... I get a similar response when i tell most people about any hockey in Britain. They cant believe the size of the NIC when I show them pictures.

Scott was down at Wembley watching the league cup final, so he won't be too bothered.

After TWO times being thrown off this PC, losing internet, a quick reply here. They worked hard years ago for little return. That being that they tried hard against what was put before them. Not as good a skill factor for today but compared with those we complain of this season, they worked harder. We enjoyed going away and accepted defeat after they tried hard, which we are bemoaning of now I believe, that those this season are coasting as many say.

To think what a mighty club Murrayfield were before this era. What happened? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murrayfield_RacersLike most clubs with the advent of change. Died away. As the Annual reported..."..one of the most famous and successful clubs of the last 25 years, very nearly went under during the Summer of 1994, victims of poor attendances in a draughty rink with no drinks licence, but a group of local businessmen, headed by sports promotor Alan Maxwell and long time supporter Stuart Robertson, stepped in at the last moment , formed a new club and renamed the team Edinburgh Racers."
