Got to have some sympathy for Capitals. They really need somebody to inject some money into the club, take it by the scruff of the neck and drive it forward. Edinburgh’s a large city with enough people to fill the Murryfield rink. Those currently in charge must be really lacking in many areas. Caps crowds recently have been down in the 300 to 400 mark and you just can't exist on that. Although the odd game or two a year has attracted 2000 ish when they do a special offer on groupon. But yes,if groupon is the only way they can get anything like a crowd in then it's time to either get a new owner in or say goodbye to the EIHL.

Doesn’t look anywhere near 300 tonight unless they are all in the bar.

Typical Panthers. Can’t even defend a 10-0 lead.

I agree, they could actually do really well with the conference system and decent owner. Its great getting 2000 people in from Groupon but if they have to witness a thrashing like this every time why would they go back?

I remember having a post game beer in the Murrayfield hotel across from the rink and some of the locals in there didn't even know there was a local team, they asked me who we had played ...

Bit like Steelers the other night against Cardiff when they did all tickets for £5.00 Sheffield got about 5000 in,but realistically that is the equivalent of a crowd of only around 2000 at normal ticket prices. Why they did that for a Devils game I've no idea, seems very odd thinking indeed to me.

No idea who is bankrolling them as the crowd isn’t and no sponsors on the ice I could see.

we had time on our hands and counted the caps fans. .lol there were no more than 170 and at least 250 Panthers fans. rumour round the rink from the locals that Caps are coming out the league next season.

Oh no, what about ‘The Code’ according to Simms? Expect us to be hauled before the EIHL board. Possible fine and/or points deduction.

A brilliant result for us but you can’t help but feel sorry for any Caps fans that turn up, a difficult situation for them.

I think it is a great way to get people interested in the sport actually, all it takes is one good game and your hooked. Why Steelers did that against Devils I don't know. Maybe like I said previously if they witness a good game they are likely to come back. £5 is a good offer for a night out for someone who has never been before.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if they dropped out of the eihl and stuck with their snl team. Feel for their fans but at the same time, where is the money coming from for them to have a competitive team? They've got massive potential given the size of the city etc but without someone willing to throw some serious money in with no hope of seeing a return anytime soon, I just can't see it personally.

Just on the drive back home now. Decent result got to be happy with a 5 point weekend on our recent form.
Nice to see gospel get the game time he deserves.
Can’t argue what has been said it’s time to let’s the caps go they bring nothing to the eihl complete waste of time.

That was supposed to be the rugby ground site, they can't touch the ice rink as it's a listed building. They can't even revamp the rink due to that

Before the weekend, I would have been happy with 5 points but after watching the Fife game, it should have been 6.
Any Caps fans must love the sport and I do feel sorry for them. There must be people out there who can do a proper job behind the scenes who won't get the chance. Which is a shame.
I'm just wondering if these extra games Braehead and Dundee have played against Edinburgh has affected the table. I'm thinking that has given them the edge for 8th spot over Coventry, which is an advantage.
I'm also wondering if any Panther fans contemplated leaving early just to get home earlier. Especially the ones who been to all 3 games.
Playing Edinburgh is not fun
