I'm mostly starting this for this cracking bit of BBC coverage:
Luckily EuroSport are covering it too.
Anyhow, I've only seen a few games from the women's comp but it's been good stuff, presumably that'll end up US v Canada.
Did our women get anywhere near this time?

There has been some excellent games in the Women's competition, and considering that checking isn't allowed, the games get quite physical and feisty. The Swiss are really good, but as you say, US v Canada is the likely final. The OAR team started poorly with a loss to Slovakia bu more than made up for it with an 8-2 hammering of Slovenia today. One interesting point, the Korean team features Woo-Sang Park who played 40 games for Coventry in 2011-12

In today's OAR V Slovenia game,'those were the days' by Mary Hopkin was played every time the OAR scored, which was a lot ! Hardly a clapalong song like Chelsea Dagger, but the Russian fans seemed to like it.

I wondered about that so looked it up and hers was an anglicised version of a Russian song that they’re all obviously familiar with.

So as expected in the women's comp the gold medal game is USA v Canada. Finland and Russia (sorry, OAR) to contest the bronze. Both semis were five-nils.
Czech Republic (did we ever start calling it Czechia?), Russia, Canada and Sweden all in the quarters on the men's side, a day of playoffs to come to decide who else advances.

So how much more does GB have to do to qualify for The Olympics? Probably host the Games We came in at stage 2 of 3 of qualifying, so step 1 would be to make it to stage 3, even better to be allowed to come in at that stage. That's all on the World Ranking, currently we're 24th, would need to be top 16 to come in at the later stage. So lots, basically. Don't think we'll be seeing them in it in our lifetimes tbh.

They hang on to win 4-3, impressive stuff, even against the Canadian second string.

Canada take the bronze medal, 6-4 winners over the Czechs. Didn't think much of that Erat goal getting scrubbed out for goalie interference, very soft.

Russia win the gold after an overtime powerplay goal against the Germans, 4-3.
Fair play to Germany, I know the NHL isn't there but some great results for them, and so close to gold too.
