Some of the RT's from the club are absolutely cringeworthy. We are not the Caps or the Stars but we are acting like it.

At 5-2 there was hope, I guess. Only 1 down on aggregate, and in the ascendency. If Panthers had scored the next goal, it would've been all to play for. Failing that, get to the end of the second 3 goals to the good, 20 minutes to outscore Giants by 1 goal to get a sudden death chance to get in the final. Then, it would seem, 3 minutes from the end of the period, when Panthers should be trying to close the period out at 5-2 on the night, a PP goal and, yet again, a goal conceded in the last 5 seconds. Brutal. Once it was 5-4, it's curtains. I credit Corey with having the cojones to try pulling the goalie on a PP with 10 minutes left, it's huge call, and he had nothing to lose at that stage, let's be honest. Maybe if Panthers had scored on the 6 on 4 it may have been different. But the heavily stacked %s played out and Giants got an ENG, then another. The point is, surely at 5-2 with 4 minutes to go in the second, you play the "stick" card and go into full on "goalie protection" mode, to ensure you go in 5-2 up. Put the pressure on Giants. Have a blow, talk tactics, go and play for the final.
According to my stats, Panthers have yet to score a goal this season with the goalie pulled, while conceding 3.

It's pretty sad to see, given the excellent work Calum has done to turn around the team's media output. To resort to 'someone has said something nice, retweet it' smacks of desperation. From excellent output to Comical Ali.

We lost both legs and got what we deserved, dumped out of yet another trophy race. Happy clappers can flower it up all they want, but the truth is we’ve got a bang average team led by a coach devoid of ideas who should have gone long ago.
Oh well people. Only another 18 pretty meaningless league games to go now, then it’s down to 4 play off games to save Neilson’s neck !

On current standings wouldn't that put against Belfast in the quarters? Nuff said.

Ah you must mean during the years when Steelers had major problems, the Devils very nearly disappeared and the Giants were struggling too. And even then we STILL couldn’t mount a challenge for the league title ! Not looking quite so clever now we’ve got some competition are we. Have a look at our record in the last four years,we’ve won nowt domestically in three of them !!

Watching the highlights of last nights game I wanted to see the trip on Colin Shields as the score stood at 2-5 as that was a crucial point of the game but it has not been put in

Watching the highlights of last nights game I wanted to see the trip on Colin Shields as the score stood at 2-5 as that was a crucial point of the game but it has not been put in Gagnon one side, Sauve the other. bit of a jostle as they come into the slot and a few sticks in the skating lane. In saying that I don't think its a trip, I think sheds loses his footing in the jostle. But its easy to see why a trip was called.

Lose a semi final 12-7 on aggregate.
A lowly 6th/7th in the league.
Might just about scrape into the play-offs.
And our coach is ‘proud’.
Top work Corey.

Watching the highlights of last nights game I wanted to see the trip on Colin Shields as the score stood at 2-5 as that was a crucial point of the game but it has not been put in Because it wasn’t a penalty, they showed the replay of the ‘penalty’ during the intermission highlights in the webcast and Gagnon was not even challenging Shields it was Bussieres and Sauve who were either side of him. It’s funny, the Belfast commentators thought the refs did well, I wonder why... The defending on that resulting power play was absolutely atrocious btw, I don’t like blaming players but Lee needs to shoulder the blame on that one. He let Rutherford skate to the opposite side behind the net, which is fine as long as you communicate and swap players you’re tracking but he didn’t, then as Billingsley left Riley to close Rutherford down, which he had to, Lee left Riley virtually unchallenged to rip the puck in. I don’t know if I’m being harsh but I feel that there’s no end of situations where we are defending and we see these kind of mistakes, we just switch off or lose focus. For me the number of goals we conceed which can easily be avoided is far too high.

That’s not a good example to set. 🙄

My apologies you are correct I've just watched it again and it is Bussieres. But as I said, its easy to see why the refs thought it was a trip. Even though he loses his footing. As for the commentator saying the refs did well. On the whole I felt they didn't have much of an effect on the game. So I agree, they did do well.

No worries, the thing that annoys me with the refs is the consistency of the calls, if that happens at centre ice it is not a call but because it’s near the net it is.

Like you don't leave Giants' top scorer alone in that same position 5 seconds from the end of the period. A bit like pulling the goalie, winning the face off, then being beaten to the puck, as every Panthers player left it for the other...

Our captain is our worst Dman by a distance. Genuine question - how would you define "worst" in terms of a D-man? He's a +5 rating in the league (second among D-men, only behind Billingsley), and isn't top (or bottom depending on how you look at it) in terms of being on the ice when a goal is conceded. That honour goes to Sauve, with 41 even strength goals conceded and 14 PP. Lee is 34 and 19 respectively. Statistically he is not Panthers "worst" D-man. Statistically, Sauve is Panthers' worst D-man, with a special mention to Brisebois, who was -7 in the league when he left, but was basically never used on the PK (was not on the ice for a PP goal conceded all season). Weirdly, Brisebois ended at +7 in the Cup games.

He must play about 35 minutes a game,in a team that has "pop gun" firing forwards who would struggle to hit a barn door from ten feet. 🙄
