Having a look through, he has played with ex and current Panthers, including Gagnon, Matt Carter, Matt Francis, Neil Conway, Mark Lee, Rob Bellamy. Been his teams top scorer a few times. Seems a decent pick up for this time of year.

Wow....seven clubs in two years. I don’t even think Marek Ivan ever had that many !

Wow....seven clubs in two years. I don’t even think Marek Ivan ever had that many ! #grimakdi/hardy Nothing majorly concerning. Started in one of the best leagues in Europe last season, soon found out he wouldn't cut it so he dropped down to the NLB.. Did very well there and naturally got a call up to the NLA, despite not playing a game. This season is slightly concerning though, 17 games played so far. I'd assume when he was released from Orlando he offered himself to Florida due to his family being located in the area. But then dropping down to Brest in the French 2nd Division.. Bit odd. He's an extra body nonetheless, would've preferred a Defenceman but the season is essentially over so I'm done complaining too much haha.

Looks solid.
We need help up front. But just as with Pither, good signing, but way too late.

Neilson said in the post that Lindhagen will go back to do and we were looking for a forward. Still looking for a defender but they are "hard to find" at the minute.

Shame it’s over two months too late.

Liiga to the French second division in 18 months? That’ll take some explaining. Panthers will the first team ever playing 5 line hockey soon.

We are not far off securing 7th so may aswell put him on hold until the beggining of March. Give him a few weeks with the team before play offs and save a months wages.

Looks a good signing, he’ll add some more offensive power, hopefully we can bring in another dman though.

Actually looks like a decent signing, but judging by the lack of real interest on this thread just shows how most people realise that it is simply too late, the seasons already done.

It’s just another example of virtually every season Corey has been coach. We’ll probably pull two solid d men out of the hat like McDonald & Quick at the last minute to see us through to the play offs.

If we had signed this guy in the summer,it would have been viewed as a 2nd line signing at best. To change anything in this years team we needed two stud quality signings and fishing around in the French second tier isn't going to find you that.

I’m not disagreeing with you that he’d be a second line forward but the key word in my post was ‘earlier’, if we’d signed him during the losing slump fans would have been happy, you’ve got to realise that we aren’t going to get the ‘stud’ signings once the season has begun, because they have teams built around them or, if you do, they are injury prone i.e. Williams. Despite him not being the stud signing you want I’m pretty sure Vaskivuo will offer a lot more offensively than some of our forwards currently are.

Why are you convinced of this ?
What characteristic of his makes him any better than the players we have already ?

I think if you take away this season it would look like a stud signing. Over a PPG last season in NLB which is a good standard and a couple of points for Davos in NLA playoffs plus he's been well over a PPG for most teams he's played. Its where he's played this season which puts a dampener on his CV but he's has a disrupted and late start to the season with the family illness. If he plays to the kind of level he was at last season it should be a quality signing. Although it doesn't really matter all that much now anyway

Italy,Denmark,France and even the ECHL are nothing to write home about. We have consistently beaten teams from all those Euro leagues If he was a point a game in the AHL,DEL,Czech etc then you might have a point.

But if he had a point per game in those leagues he wouldn't give the EIHL a seconds thought. The NLB i still a good standard and the other leagues he's played in are pretty much on par with EIHL. Despite how much Panthers could spend no way could we compete with top DEL, Czech teams etc for top end scorers

Of the top 10 points scorers currently in the league only Dane Byers has played lots of games in top leagues. All the others have vast expereince in those lower leagues. I have no doubt that we have the quality to win the league this year. Our problem is we play like garbage half the time, and have no confidence on the ice.

Why are you convinced of this ? What characteristic of his makes him any better than the players we have already ? without seeing him play you can’t compare any characteristics, I’m going off points in leagues comparable to ours. All we can do is hope he performs and give him that chance by getting behind him rather than saying he’s not what we need even before he’s hit the ice.
