Just doing some research for a blog and making a list of songs, chants and music associated with teams in the EIHL - If anyone can think of any that would be great!

If you find any perhaps you could suggest a few for the Panthers fans. Could hear a pin drop unless they’re winning!

Of 28 years, but don’t YOU think we’re very quiet. I know folk will say, “Well, give us something to cheer about”, but honestly when do you think the team need the most support?

Panthers fans come out in numbers, that is not in dispute, but as a crowd they can be extremely quiet and are very rarely “pro active” in their vocal support. The atmosphere at the NIC is not a patch on the old stadium, sad really.

I completely agree with you, it just sounded like you were pointing the finger at other people, none of us make enough noise but that’s due a number of reasons. Apart from block 4, there’s not really a set up for supporters who want to chant. The club don’t seem to want a hostile environment. Look at what happened when the fans tried setting block 18 up, the club took the p*ss, deterred people from buying seats there and that was that. Plus the ‘arena’ don’t allow musical instruments, I’ve no doubt this is under recommendation of the club. Then you have to look and the population of fans we have, compared to other teams we have a lot of fans that are older, who generally aren’t as likely to chant as the younger fans. That isn’t meant to be disrespectful it’s just an observation. I believe the club makes the decision not to have a hostile environment because they probably think the older generation wouldn’t be keen, or that it could deter the part timers from coming. They are the only reasons that’s I can think of for the club doing what they do. People that want to chant end up not doing so because when they try nobody joins in.

Spot on! You mention part-timers. In the old rink tickets were so hard to come by that casuals just didn’t bother, so you had 3,000 hard core fans. Opposing teams always said it was an intimidating to place to play whereas now opposing coaches are openly derisive of the atmosphere here. Perhaps another area where a supporters trust could have had discussion with the management.
As toothfairy said, we’ve demonstrated that we CAN give vocal support, wonder why we don’t do it more often?

I think Giants use the Sham Rock version of Tell Me Ma.
In terms of other teams chants when Blaze score away the fans chant the match of the day theme followed by shouting goal.
The CHL did prove we can get a loud atmosphere in the NIC but then again most fans at those games were the die hards and proper hockey fans who knew what it meant to be playing those teams. The casual Saturday crowd wouldnt care about that.
4000 midweek cup matches usually have a better noise than 7000 Saturday night fans.

I think Giants use the Sham Rock version of Tell Me Ma. No they don't and they get quite upset by the suggestion. So for that alone I'm happy to post it!!

I thought our intro was Nightmare by BrainBug? That's played before the intro video, Fall Out Boy comes after that
