Well what happened there?
Is it a case of a broken clock getting it right twice a day? Are we just warming up for the CC push? Or have we actually turned a corner?
Either way, we were great. The team really seem to step up the defensive effort for Galbraith and it took some very well worked Cardiff goals to get past him.
Clarke has the best game I’d seen from him for a good few years. Bussieres actually scored - and it was a corker. Gagnon’s fight was up there with the best in the NICs history, proper toe-to-toe.
We’ll probably go and get spanked tomorrow now!

I can actually see Panthers winning this game. It’s just got that feeling of desperation, because the noose around some necks is getting pretty tight now ! 😂

Played so much better.
Different tactics, different D pairings after we concede, cracking fight and a DC PP goal. Credit where it’s due, well done CN and the team

Had a feeling we'd win tonight. Capitalised well on a very ordinary first period from Bowns (got the bounces? ) and didn't think we'd lose after that. Good defensive effort 2nd and 3rd, Galbraith good again. Devils showed their mettle to get it as close as they did, we looked rather tired at the end. Good win though.

I thought having two refs was supposed to make decision making easier. Tonight it was refereeing by committee.

Have we not just had to over-promote a linesman or 6 to make up this 2 man system?

Good effort from Panthers and a very entertaining game! Pleased for Farmer and Bussieres to get a goal, hopefully that will do them a world of good and get them firing. Gagnons fight was brutal, both men did there teams proud and it got the building going.
Let’s carry the performance into tomorrow and continue for the rest of the season.

For as close as it was in the end after a solid first period I’m kind of glad because it forced us to battle to the very end and it’s always a timely reminder for the team that hockey is a full 60 minute game.
It was amazing to see what happens when we shoot the puck and have someone in front to sweep up rebounds.
Bowns is poor, I don’t rate him, can’t catch anything, like mustukovs his defence hide his shortcomings and when they weren’t performing it was clear to see how he isn’t all that.
The fight was brutal, 2 warriors heads down and swinging. Faryna is tough, took a run at Gagnon knowing full well what would come next and held his own throughout. I would take him any day at our club.
Derlago was lethargic tonight, just didn’t seem with it. Bussieres took a great goal in the first but then fanned on an open net again in the 2nd.
Overall it was an entertaining game with the right outcome which after all the dross of recent weeks is all we could really ask for.

Entertaining game at last and a good win. Shame it will mean nothing in the great scheme of things. As Spence said, amazing what shooting the puck does, how many of the goals tonight were rebounds off the keeper? Finally a change of tactics and it reaps immediate rewards, a friend pointed out that we only dumped the puck in three or four times in the first. Result? We go into the break up four zip.

God you are so wrong about Bowns, he may have had a stinker last night, but he has won many games for the Devils with truly outstanding displays. He was a huge factor in us winning the league last season, that’s why Lord had no hesitation bringing him back, also on top of him being a very good player, he is British, allowing us to have a extra import outskater. As for Mustukovs, he certainly is one of the best netminders in the league, and complimenting Steelers players don’t come easy to me.

I don’t think I am wrong about bowns, for the performances I have seen of him (granted not as many as yourself but it’s all I can personally go on) I do not understand the fan fare and I wouldn’t be particularly happy if we signed him, brit or not.

Well played Panthers. So frustrating that it’s taken so long.

Things I noticed was that in the first the were playing short shifts, sometimes no more than 20 seconds, and played with a high intensity.
Reffing was confusing, who was calling the decisions, the ref? the linos? cardiff? It seemed that on decisions there was at least 1 devil there. Where was our captain? I dont like the constant hustling of the officials which a lot of teams do but we just dont do it.

We played 14 according to game sheet, but with two import netminders so 13 really. It's now been a month since we released Shalla without replacing him. What would you Devils fans think if Lord did that ?

Eyup, Just having a sniff round after a few weeks away. Bowns poor!!! From where I was sitting he made several outstanding saves. I’d have him playing for us any day. Brilliant first period for us, but .... Yes I know we were 4 in front with a game to play tonight, but for some reason I can’t get too excited over that win, good as it was. Don’t know why - perhaps past experience!

Hardly seemed to play any dump and chase either and all the powerless were good. Even on the ones we didn't score we looked dangerous

AS CN got a few ringers in, very difficult to see who's under the helmet sometimes!!!!!!!! You given up on your self imposed ban then?
