Surely that's the job of the Captain? You expect leadership from Steve 'The Grey Man' Lee? I'm still convinced that who got the Captaincy was drawn out of a hat.

Started watching the Panthers when it was £3.50ish a ticket, which I always bought off the NIC steps "Ticket wanted for the match!". I saw us lose to Cleveland and draw with Murrifield. I can remember Rob Andrew celebrating a goal and Fred Perlini's first Panthers face-off and subsequent goal. I remember watching Jim Keyes drag the Panthers up from being a laughing stock and bought his season worn shirt and years later being star struck as my hero signed it when he came over for Randal Webbers testimonial. Watched our first play-off game and attended Wembley weekends without fail taking my banner made from a bed sheet which always hung over the Panthers bench.
I remember the racers brawl and the game against the Bruins the following week.. I watched Fifes Cechs weighed down with gold medals skate circles around us. I attended away matches and will never forget the atmosphere at Durham or seeing now NHL coach Mike Babcock play in Whitley...
Before this place existed i ran a mailing list with a fellow Sheffield supporter with members that included fans, coaches, refs, the press and i even had to moderate some of Dave Simms posts....
I watched my last game at the NIC and waited with excitement the building of our new home and was in awe at its size.
I remember accidentally sitting next to the son and wife of a fellow mailing lister from Ukh-friend who I used to meet every game at NIC block 3 steps after the first period and asking where he was (as he used to work away) . Only to be told that during the off season he'd been diagnosed with cancer and died..... and being gutted.... And then being told that Moran had refused his dieing wish for a small portion of his ashes to be placed under the ice in our goal crease so as he could help keep the pucks out.. Would it have hurt ?
Slowly, very slowly I became aware of the attitude being shown towards fans.... The newbies didn't know any better but I did.
I stopped going regularly a few years ago.... They don't miss me, it's a business that doesn't care about the people that walk through its doors and I reflect that back at them... And I suspect so do the players.
But Mr Moran and Black can never take my love of the game away or my memories of those players that returned it with the pride of wearing the 'black and gold' and with giving 110% effort.

It’s people like Simon who made this club.

There's a lot of veteran fans, on here and not on here who have stopped going in the last few years so would it be an idea to put all these people together and try and get something in the Nott'm Post? Could always try and get hold of a few former pro's to give their stance too.

Probably part of the Ice Hockey Trust these days 'if still attending games' and those trust members are heckeled for be moaning of the situation we hav now. I's welcome to hear from ex-fans such as Simon penning a note to the media, with a copy to the club. At lest the media MAY reply.

Simon Morley (53) Pretty much echoes my thoughts too. Remember those great games against Streatham, Altrincham, etc and characters like Melancon, Conway and Salmon, etc Whilst the NIC is light years ahead of the Ice Stadium in terms of facilities, it's not even close for atmosphere. Used to love Saturday nights down there.

Who has/needs power, you voice your opinion on social media, these people can do the same via the news media. Certainly the club believes the Trust has no credibility but whom are they to speak when it's the fans saying the club are losing theirs. Not sure there is any reason why a set of fans (Trust membership) have no credibility, what have they done......opened up a chance for fans to get together and voice this opinion but of course the club is a closed shop and thereby won't speak to anyone. Whats the past eliment that has given the Trust this 'no cred' tag. they've asked to speak with the club and the club has refused.

There won’t be any contact from the club. They’re doing what they always do with something they don’t like...hide,say nothing,or sweep it under the carpet hoping it goes away, whilst wrongly and smugly thinking they’ve taken the moral high ground.
Yeah right ! 🙄

My experience of the Panthers as an organisation; they close ranks and shut you out. All of them.

Yeah right ! 🙄 So true. It really is a foul set up with the grey haired loud mouthed egomaniac at the forefront. The most loathsome individual I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Sooner he goes the sooner we may stand of a chance of this club regaining its class and being cleaned up from top to bottom.

Hi back again.... The closing of ranks is disappointing and does create a 'them and us'. Back in the day when players wives would sit in block 3 amongst us ordinary supporters it really was a family with us all in it together. Once i wrote a letter about how as a supporter i felt about my club and the wearing of its shirt and quietly passed it to Mike Blaisdals wife, who i know passed it on. No fuss or palarva just a letter that might or might not mean anything to anyone but did to me.
Times change, social media good or bad, a distraction or a means of remaining grounded ? I don't know the answer.
All i do know is that for a sports club it's never a good idea to alienate those whose only crime is passion for the club and sport.

My second post after years of reading, think Simon's post sums up so many fans thoughts at present, the club is underachieving in so many ways.
GM is clearly the biggest problem speaking with those in the know, once they are no longer associated with the club of course.
Corey has been a fantastic player and coach for the club but after years of mediocrity in the league papered over with Challenge Cup and PlayOff sucess it's time for a change. A early announcement would give the fans a proper chance to wish him well for the future.
As for me no signings my £70 in staying home this weekend so far the club is £210 down and will be getting no more cash till I see some changes, sure it won't make any difference but I feel better for getting me thoughts off me chest
A very dissatisfied panthers fan

They don't care about you, me or the rubbish form and terrible league challenge. As the website says only 1,500 left in the bowl...

Do you think that the Panthers management realise how utterly ridiculous they are making themselves appear by frantically putting out sticking-plaster communications to cover the gaping wound that is our season.
We get insulting platitudes like .... “Lachowicz: Could be a turning point”, “Spang focussed and ready to go”, “Lee: Thanks to fans” and “Top prospect sidelined by injury.”
Laughable Like Neilson’s laser? Belated knee jerk reaction to excuse teams inexcusable behaviour in Belfast. Poor lad hardly gets a shift!
What about really important issues like when is the “imminent” new signing being announced!
I think the Three Wise Monkeys (or is that just monkeys) could do with a communication lesson from Kevin Nolan.
You have really excelled yourself Panthers - arrogant, secretive money-grabbers. No season ticket for me next year Mr. Black. You’re going to have to earn my ticket money week-on-week.

Speaking of Kevin Nolan; win, lose or draw the man is live on Radio Nottingham Facebook within minutes of the final whistle talking sense. If it’s poor he says it’s poor and doesn’t come out with cliched statements/excuses to try and appease the fan base. Warburton was the same at Forest (although with the cliched phrases). Can you imagine if any of our management/coaches had a camera thrust in their face within minutes of our 8th defeat on the spin? No wonder we just get zynomix sound bites of Moran asking Nielsen the same routine questions and him providing the same mundane answers.

Well, the Lacho interview basically acknowledges that the Devils are way ahead of us, implying that a win against them would be a massive result. So what was Neilson laser focused on exactly, second place?

So what was Neilson laser focused on exactly, second place? I was told from within the team before the season had even started, that we had signed “a THIRD place team”. And they even got that wrong !!! 🙄 I see there’s another load of crap from Neilson in today’s Evening Post too.
