My source at the game says Hanson is ruining a decent game on both sides.

Sheff win with just 7 imports , how embarrasing. even though you had woolhouse on net you should have beaten us. Is that played 8 won 7 drawn 1 against you lot.

I'm told I missed nothing. I predicted this. I had a choice, goto another over hyped Sheffield game, where we'll throw it away in the last 10, or go and see Manchesters flashy new rink. Either way I could only go to one match. Based on simple financial sense and the fact I like Manchester and their fans who have had the belief to stick with this game and their time through a dark period, I decided a visit to Manchester would be more expensive but money well spent. Oh and tunster, thanks for your real insightful comments. There is a place for comments like that and it's called Steeltalk. Linkage: www.steelersihc.co.uk

I knew we'd mess it up in the last 10. It's like tradition, destiny, fate. Definately going to put £20 on Sheffield to win the playoffs. Either way I win. If they win, I win. If they lose, I've cursed them and I can take losing twenty quid. Lets face it, you'd struggle to get a round at the playoff weekend for that anyway ;D

just got back from the game, two words! DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!
i thought the guys played their hearts out tonight, but without rasta it was always going to be tough. woolhouse, although a bit shakey...well done! you did us proud i thought apart from the one howler.....(he's been watching rasta to much)
well played panthers, hope we meet steelers in the playoffs now and beat them, to make up for the 6-0 whitewash to the series

I had a choice, goto another over hyped Sheffield game, where we'll throw it away in the last 10, snip Yea, I don't know why Panthers fans bother going to these games. I haven't seen a single one for a couple of seasons. Since then we've won 2 lost 6 drawn 1 scored 20 given up 27, and that's only at the NIC. You can guarantee that even if the balance of power lies with the Panthers at the beginning of the season, come this time of the year the Steelers will be so much better than us it's laughable. The Steelers know what's important to their fans and if the team they sign up at the start can't beat us, it's odds on the one they have come play-off time will do.

Absolute rubbish tonight.
No passion, no heart - all but a couple didn't look the slightest bit interested.
They were playing with 7 imports - why did we not throw a check all night? Why did we not get in their faces?
Part of me feels the reason is that we don't want to play Newcastle in the play offs, so will happily give up second place. The reality is, we may well struggle to make fourth. I just can't understand it.
One thing I do understand though is that Ellis as a player is completely out of his depth at this level - just can't decide whether he's out his depth as a coach as well...

everyone`s entitled to an oppinion, i can understand completely why Pete didn`t want to spend his money on another panthers v steelers game, this is the first time i`ve decicded not to go, fed up of all the hype these games bring, fed up of losing to them, fed up of there fans gloating, but i would never criticism anyone else for wanting to go. The hing that really gets to me is, why do we always lose to the steelers? it does matter who coaches either team what players both teams have ( and lets face it the players change alot for both teams} we never seem to get the upper hand. Having said all that, next season i will be there again hoping that just for once we will get the upper hand.

I reckon there are a lot of Brits who are better than Ellis. We'd have been better saving his half pay from the wage cap and playing James Neil.
Obviously I don't KNOW that Newcastle will qualify - but neither do Panthers. They'd be the team I'd least want to play, that's for sure.

Our powerplay resembled a one-man advantage penalty kill (copyright Helen B), our passing was pretty poor too. Steelers came in shorthanded and executed the perfect road game, I thought they completely outworked us for large swathes of the game. You'd have thought it would be them looking tired by the end of the game, not us!
Geoff didn't have a terrible game, OK that goal was a pretty terrible howler but he made a few good stops (including that one-on-one). Three goals from thirty-six shots isn't bad. He seemed a bit reluctant to make a catch though and seemed a bit nervous at times.

Well it started a good game but after Wooly's howler heads went down and we got sloppy and never improved, we seemed to lose the ability to pass the puck in the 2nd and 3rd period and just....Steelers wanted it more.
Wooly had a good game with the exception of that horrendous error trying to skill Tessier but it backfired and Tess just popped it into the empty net, he made some smart stops non more so than that 1 on 1 save which got the crowd on its feet.
Another loss a 6 nil whitewash which is a shame because we started the better team but just ran out of energy the team looked knackered for most of the game
Good crowd, generally good atmosphere but we just lacked that final touch

Listen Bud, If you follow the thread, you'll know that I had a choice to make. I was offered the chance to goto Manchester v Panthers on Sunday or goto tonights game. My dilemma was that I could only afford to goto one. With exception to tonight, I go to every single home game I can and that includes flying 1892 miles on a regular basis to watch matches. Maybe you think I'm a glory not going tonight and instead going away to Manchester on Sunday. Selfish little me eh? I think you'll suffer to find someone who lives out in Krakow/Tarnow, Poland most of the year and gets to the amount of games I do. I have dvds sent and I watch the games online. When the games are on the radio, I listen to them too. I have been back in the UK since Januray and tonight is first game I've missed through choice. Glory? no I'm not. Devoted fan of 7 years, yes I am. Before you go throwing your insults about, have a look and see who you're throwing your ridiculous theories at.
