I know we have only just finished our match up with coventry today but we only have 2 days to get out predictions as to who will prevail as the winner.
Im going for another good win like last time we met, was an entertaining game and had the right outcome too. so im going for a 4-2 win to the Panthers. And i dont want to hear Thompson asking for broken wrists either!

The game penalty was for the Steelers game; the Match penalty on the night put him out of the Devils game whilst the supplementary 2 game ban from the League put him out of both Blaze games.

From what i hear we should of won so 3-0 to panthers Jan to score first Should of,.. but didn't. I was at the game and although we outplayed the Blaze ,..and out shot them ,.. our end product (quality of shots) was woeful,.. same type of shots all games,.. Koenig just ate them up,..it was run of the mill stuff for him and never had to go to his top drawer to deny us. The PP also left much to be desired ,.. We need to outplay them again tonight,.. not overplay,.. which we were guilty of at the skydome. (IMO) I'm hopeful that on home ice with a big crowd we should rack the win,..but our potency in front of net on Sunday night worried me somewhat. I suspect we will suffer from the usual "off an elbow/chest/buttock" goal against,..so I'll go 3 - 1 Panthers and for my fears to be unfounded..

I think i'll go for 2-1 as well, and for Tait to be thrown out of the game.

We didnt lack the quality of shots/placement against cardiff, so it must of been an off day infront of goal then

Clashing with a Forest home game again? Crowd should be a touch lower.

how rubbish is carson
but he didn't win or lose the game for any of the teams
coventry lost it themselves by back chatting to carson eg 3 x 10mins and 1 match penalty

A good game and a good win against a good side.
Carson tried his best to ruin it with some outrageous calls against us (pick of the bunch against Stevens) and missed calls against them (pick of the bunch one of the most blatant and dangerous slashes I've ever seen on Petricko's arm - Carson even seemed to apologise to Petricko for missing it).
Paul Thompson needs to get a grip of that squad though - tonight they were a disgrace, from start to finish (with Ndur swinging for Carson with his stick after our winning goal - if Shmyr gets 3 games for what he did, then if there's any justice we shouldn't be seeing Ndur again this season).
I'm all for hard hitting play, and even some niggling and crafty play, but tonight from Coventry over-stepped the mark - and to add to that, the constant whinging every time they got a call against them (which wasn't very often, if at all) became boring to watch. I'm there to watch a game of ice hockey, not a load of should-be Premiership footballers moaning at every decision and going down like they've been shot every time the opposition goes within five metres of them.
They made Maxwell's Racers seem like good sports tonight. Thompson - you need to get a grip of them.

My summary of the game :
Coventry are very good ....... but they are a very dirty and cunning team Bring back Shmyr Carson is a very poor ref indeed We were out of our depth at times But we never gave up and dug out an ot win Well done Panthers - I am proud of you I had a complete newbie next to me - she loved it & will be back The win celebrations were great I will sleep happy in my bed tonight

Good win tonight in the end. For a while it looked like Blaze would up their game at any stage. Well done guys.
Will be interesting to see what the league do about Ndur. After the game winning goal, he followed Carson back to the penalty bench and whilst being restrained, looked like he attempted to spear Carson, who immediately gave him a misconduct penalty. IH update shows a Match for abuse of official.
IF he DID spear Carson, then there is no place for him here. Carson was poor for both teams tonight, but he seemed to take it too far IMHO.

The Blaze are a very good side and I thought we did well to hang on for as long as we did during the second period (though their go ahead goal was a fantastically bad goal to concede). In the end their indiscipline cost them as I didn't see a way back for us up until the point they all started getting misconducts. It was a very good and exciting game of hockey to watch and I'm very pleased that some luck actually went our way for a change (ie. the equaliser) and we were able to grind a win out. Why were the Blaze players so annoyed about the GWG? Someone outside said something about hearing a whistle before the puck went in? By the way, when was the last time we won in overtime at home? It's been a while!

Have to say I had lost the will to life by middle of 2nd period, not due to the play but due to the officiating, the amount of calls missed for both teams was abysmal. I don't usually notice the missed calls, when everybody else is shouting for them I haven't a clue but tonight they were so obvious even I noticed. Well done to the guys for sticking at it, chipping away at Coventry causing them to give away misconduct penalties allowing us back in.

Thought it was a great game. Carson was awful, but to say he was on one side or another would be harsh. Almost all the calls he made were correct, but the amount he missed in both teams was embarrassing. Was my first view of blaze, and they were very good. Although whether they are as good as the top sides last year is open to debate on that showing.
