EP has Brown down as a winger, although I realise we played him at centre a lot (so he could fall over at 95% of faceoffs), and presumably will do again. Perhaps not his natural position though? he wins a lot of faceoffs (whether he falls over or not)

Both Raphael Bussieres and Alexander Mokshantsev can/have played centre. Apparently Bussieres does prefer play centre. Apparently though neither had great face off win percentage last season. It's also noted that one the few comparative weaknesses in Phillips game along with his skating ability and below average skating speed is said to be according to some scouting reports he is not the greatest of face off takers. I suppose one way or another we will find out come august. I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing all three play Though It's looking entirely possible that we could have yet another team that struggles to win face offs. I hope that's not the case.

I'll be disappointed if we don't sign two centres and a Dman, it'll be a mistake to have Lindhagen anything but a spare. The Website has him as a Dman, so maybe we have two centres incoming, shame we didn't sign the young centre Belfast grabbed.

The website has Lindhagen as D purely because that's where he spent most of last season. It's not a certainty that he'll be playing D again but they can't exactly list him as a Forward when he barely played there last season. If he moves up as a Forward this season, it'll be changed on the website.

The website has Lindhagen listed as a forward. It did have him down as defence before, so Corey must have changed his mind. Suspect he's found a good D and is now probably scratching his head thinking he needs a forward with more goals than Lindhagen can offer. Still hoping Corey has some budget left to sign two centres along with that D man.

Do people think Clarke would be capable of playing second line and providing more scoring this season. Lines would therefore be
Shalla Phillips Mosey Bussieres Import Clarke Farmer Lindhagen Brown Mokshantsev Lacho Betteridge
This looks pretty balanced in terms of playing styles and roles on each line

IIRC someone on Twitter asked Callum about why Lindhagen was listed as D on the site, apparently Lindhagen was just down as D because he mostly played there last season. It was changed then to avoid confusion.

As every day passes it seems less likely the Panthers will have a full roster for the 1st game v Cardiff never mind Mr Black's all players must be here by a certain date.
Its not like he's not had the time, he should known who he wanted for the 17/18 season before the end of the season

To be fair I'd rather we get the right players for this team. If we're a player or two short for training camp people will moan. If we don't have enough face off winners people will moan. If we don't have enough goal scorers people will moan. If we don't have enough toughness people, and I, will moan.
Neil Black is long enough in the tooth to know there will always be moaners, getting it completely right is impossible. Ask him at the next Q&A and I guarantee he'll just say they were waiting on the right player and everyone in the room will nod. He's not worried.

Players become available when sometimes we might not expect it. Others may become unavailable when least expected. This is real life, not a video game.

For a owner who's won the league once in his 18 years of stewardship id be worried I guess he's in the sport for the wrong reasons then heh

Like with most businesses I would guess that NB wants to invest as much money as it takes to gain maximum profit and not a penny more. Your right reasons and his right reasons are more than likely two very different things. I guess that's the major difference between it being your money on the line or not.

We always seem to find the money after Christmas when we have to in order to try and save the season after things have gone tits up. Not so good at finding it to start with though are we. There is always going to be a compromise line between making money and winning. But for a team that could blow all the others out the water every season if it wanted to.....we don't even come close to that line !

I am keen to find out who the final two pieces of the puzzle are, still hoping for three new signings However, I would rather Corey took his time and was patient to get the right player that we need, even if that means they are not in place until the start of the EIHL Season, not at all worried about pre season friendly games or the CHL, which will be mission impossible anyway!

Interesting to note that the two adverts Panthers placed in the job section of elite prospects for defencemen have now both been removed. The adverts for a centre, a left winger & right winger however still remain Might be just coincidence but maybe a defenceman has been signed or at least agreed terms. Or maybe Corey has for whatever reason decided he's not going to sign anymore import defencemen and is happy with what he's already got.......

Black has gone on record as saying the business model for Panthers (and what he suggests for all clubs to follow to stay afloat) is that up until Christmas you only spend the season ticket money. After Christmas you can top up by spending other income.

With the roster we've got so far, I'd rather we added the right players rather than the ones available for the sake of it

We haven't already signed - how do I know, simple there are tickets on sale, do you think they would miss an opportunity to boost ticket sales by not announcing new players!
