A huge game for the Steelers, they almost have to win this game to stay in the title race. Cardiff are starting to struggle and need the Steelers/Giants to drop as many points as possible to win the league.
On the other hand - considering we're most likely going to be drawing Sheffield or Belfast in the playoff QF's, this weekend is going to be huge for our players confidence. Not having beaten Belfast during regulation time this season and ultimately being our bogey team, we NEED a win, otherwise we can pretty much kiss the playoffs goodbye if we play Belfast.
Sheffield are nothing special, they can't seem to beat us when we have a full strength bench.

50-50 ticket scandal ahoy....... why anyone buys a 50/50 there I have no idea. The amount of times its won by someone in the organisation is ridiculous. Now the owner has won! why is buying tickets in the first place?

That's goodness knows how many employees, players, wives or friends that have won it now. You would think the usual rule would apply where "any employees of the company running such a lottery or prize draw are barred from taking part" wouldn't you ? Then again,he did have an excellent chance of winning amongst such a crap crowd of only 1023 though ! 😂😂 Lol

Should be pointed out that Smith didn't accept the prize, it's rolled over.

Hopefully get a big win and hopefully a Panthers fan wins the 50/50.. Dump them out of league contention, take their money, that's a good weekend.

It's a fix, they're trying to build the prize up and attract more people for this weekend's game

Should be pointed out that Smith didn't accept the prize, it's rolled over. To be honest, why did he even enter, no good can ever come from the owner of a club winning a competition associated with that club. You would also think that as he is also the Elite League Chairman, he would have thought off any potential issues that this may bring. I also agree with another poster on here stating how crucial it is to have a 4 point weekend, not only to stop the current run of win one lose one, but also to lay down a marker and inspire a bit of confidence going into any potential Play Off games

Think this Sheffield game must have been cancelled or something. Hardly a peep about it on the Panthers O/s this week....it's all about Sunday v Belfast for some strange reason ! Mmmm very odd. # £££s

Lets see if Fitzgerald decides to go for Brown after the hit last time.

Lets see if Fitzgerald decides to go for Brown after the hit last time. no chance otherwise he will have to answer to McGrattan. I've never seen a player change so much from one season to the next, he was so aggressive last season and the one before that, now McGrattan and the rest have arrived he has changed how he plays, probably under instruction from Thompson. It's a shame really, I was looking forward to seeing him take a beating this year

To compound the fact it was a atrocious call it was made by a ref who is a City of Sheffield resident and is an employee of a Steelers main team sponsor.
Regardless of any actual nefarious intent by Pering how the hell is someone who is so closely connected to both the city of Sheffield and a main sponsor of the Steelers even allowed anywhere near a Steelers game, let alone one such as this that he sorely lacks the ability to officiate?
Shocking allocating by the EIHL but nothing less than I'd expect from an organisation that couldn't find it's backside with the Hubble Telescope.
