Could have Clarke back for this. But knowing him he'll fan a shot and rip his shoulder again.
Williams and Lawrence will miss the weekend. Williams likely to be out for longer than expected. Lawrence, according to the website, 'is still bothered about his injury' (Puck to hand?) so is skating but not playing. Make of that what you will.
Big game. Need to avenge our horrific performance and 5-0 loss from last weekend, could be at full strength in terms of numbers so hopefully we're rolling 4 lines. Wouldn't expect any Bordeleau vs. McGrattan either unless either land a dirty/injuring hit.

Ref has lost control-if he ever had any.
Even bordeleau thought he'd been kicked out

Bad opening 10mins from Panthers, Farmers moment of brilliance turned the tide in our favour until the 3rd period. Class showed in the end though, Cardiff are an excellent team.
I can't understand why, playing as well as he has been, McGrattan is always effectively benched for the 3rd period. He improves Farmer's game ten-fold when they line-up together.

Meh ... thought we should have won that. Doesn't really matter either way when the games mean nothing. Few things:
Lacho scored! Yes, I couldn't believe my eyes either Think Myers deserved a pasting Can someone pick Spang up off the ice he hasn't got up for 60 minutes Glad to see Clarke back

I enjoyed that game, was end to end and we scored some good goals. Cardiff fought back and showed championship metal.
Looks like Dimmen has broken his finger...which the ref missed of course

Cardiff use their size well and actually have a plan 'B'
And Lee is going from dire to utter crap as the season goes on.

We didn't deserve that point,we got hammered, especially in the 3rd and o/t,we are woeful in overtime. Good job our Brits can score, because most of the imports are bloody useless in front of goal,i wouldn't put somebody else's £5 on any of our imports to hit the back of the net ! Oh for some creativity and a couple of snipers !

I can't understand why, playing as well as he has been, McGrattan is always effectively benched for the 3rd period. I'd guess it's got something to do with the fact that he gets scored on more times than Joey's sister in Friends. Come to that, why is Sertich out in OT? He's a team worst -13 as we stand. Big Ern next up at -10. They're both poor at even strength. A poor game post the third goal from Panthers. Once it was 3-2, there was only 1 winner. Plenty of talking points though. Is Dimmen injured? What the jiminy cricket was that boarding penalty about in the last 20 seconds? Why didn't Bordeleau get anything for bouncing Spang's head off the glass and nearly taking the bench door off its hinges? How nice was Clarkie's goal?

Thought spang took a few bad hits tonight. The first one was a check to the head, someone next to me called it a headbut but I couldn't say for sure.
Dirty side though Cardiff are imo, ref missed so much and it just went out of control. The call in the last minute on Schultz looked like the right call but he let so many others go all night the players don't know where they stand.
Poor passing and zone clearance cost us that game.
Was it dimmens hand/finger or was it his tooth he was showing him?

McGrattan has been a big offensive threat since Xmas and I don't think it out the realms of possibility that Cardiffs resurgence tonight coincident with Grats sitting out...

Great game if you're a neutral.
Very disappointed in the defence once again. Thought Waugh and Dimmen played alright, Spang, Sertich and Lee were them usual selves and provided little of benefit.
Miika was very good, it's a shame the defence cost us and allowed Devils forwards to break so often and get into open space at the back door. Tighten up the D and we'd have won it tonight.
Bordeleau's hit, he's a big lad, Spang is average size. Was always going to be a high hit regardless of who he hit. Same when he crushed Sertich later on. He picks up his speed from the blue line and doesn't stop till he's crushed someone, Spang being Spang didn't seem to be in a hurry to get out the way and paid for it. Same with Sertich. Was glad to see McGrattan go for him afterwards, wanting to make him answer, as I said before, those two will only get to the point of fighting if either throws a big or injuring hit. It's a shame Bordeleau wanted non of it and tied McGrattan up.
The officiating was pretty poor, I know the guy is usually on the lines but that was awful. The game could quite easily have gotten out of hand if Bordeleau actually got more than a couple shifts each period. The slash on Dimmen which will no doubt see him sidelined for a couple weeks if it's as bad as it sounds. The Schultz 'boarding' hit on Myers, sure he probably shouldn't really have gone for the hit but Myers was already in an awkward, leaning over position and he paid the price for that.
Real disappointed to only have taken 1 point. The defence needs to get their act together if we're going to mount any fight for the CC or Playoffs. Costing us far too much at the most important times.

Come to that, why is Sertich out in OT? Yes, very odd. Another very odd line to start OT (Sertich, MacMillan and Farmer, I think). As others have said, we don't seem to have any sort of idea what we're doing 3-on-3. I thought they were the better team tbh, they don't seem to create a ton of clear chances but they controlled the play for the most part.

I thought the ref was very poor tonight. It was inevitable that someone would get injured, and the way we go with injuries it was bound to be us.
He called some soft ones, but let a lot of worse ones go.
Carter. Back to his normal non-existent self again.

Meanwhile, Steelers bring in the top point scorer from the Alps Hockey League

I thought the Alps Hockey League teams were a standard similar to the Scottish teams.....Ritten won it the other week.

Decent signing for Steelers though. Better get your cheque book out Mr Black or our season is fast heading for a great big disaster !
