So Waugh is skating, but also going to see a specialist?

Anyone else think DC is done?

Waugh and Clarke both have Concussion. It doesn't hamper their physical ability, I.e. the use of their legs and feet when skating, using their hands and arms when practicing with the puck.
Clarke is well enough to be behind the bench, but is yet to have taken part in proper practice so I'd assume his symptoms are still lingering around.
Waugh, is skating and taking part in practice so I'd assume he's close to returning and once he's able to take part in full practice and cleared for contact, I think he'll be good to go.
If either of them show signs of Post Concussion Syndrome then they're done for the season but with Waugh's progress I'd be surprised if he isn't back in the next week or two. Clarke though, think he'll be another few weeks minimum.
After that then it'll just be a case of getting back up to speed and trying to pick up where left off, unlike Lee and his quite apparent decline.

I could see us winning this game, it'd be typical Panthers to lose against Fife in a dull game and then walk over Steelers. I don't believe there's any foil-hat conspiracy regarding not trying in the League but going all guns blazing in Cups but that's just me, with a win all games regardless of competition or opponent kind of attitude.

Anyone else think DC is done? it looks that way, if he is it does leave us in a predicament in regards replacing him, we need to start attracting or developing some more British players but that's another can of worms

Two tickets going spare in an exec box for tonight's game, cost £48 each, would accept £25 each, includes 2 drinks! PM if interested. Thanks

From Panthers twitter "Making his long awaited return tonight... Geoff Waugh is back in the lineup for tonight's game! Clarke, Schultz and Lawrence out"

Steelers icing both Liam Kirk and Cole Shudra too.
Waugh returning should be a bit of a boost, means either Lee, Sertich or Spang get less ice time which is positive.

Lack of cover for long term injuries is now biting.

Lack of cover for long term injuries is now biting. That didn't take a rocket scientist mate to work out but is pretty tough for the panthers organisation to understand I feel!

The Continental Cup took up 9 matches and you are bound to get more injuries . You have to have a bigger squad. However if you are missing the likes of Williams, Lawrence, Shultz I would take the point that it is difficult to replace them

Going constantly shortbenched is killing this team. They will continue to lose players to injury unless this is remedied. Shortbenched and overworked, there was only one winner tonight.

Can't comment on the game itself as I wasn't there but losing Williams early on, alongside Schultz and Lawrence I'm quite pleased we only managed to limit the deficit to one goal. 3 potential 1st liners and some of the more creative, score from nothing players.
I've been told by someone that Corey wasn't too happy after the game and expletives were directed towards the players in regards to how they played, but I wasn't there so I wouldn't know if it's true or not. Wouldn't surprise me though.
I'd die to know why we seem to lose players like flies and fail to do anything about it. Corey and Strax are more than capable coaches, been in the game for decades so going short bodied is something you'd expect them to want to avoid at all costs, yet it still happens for probably 80% of our games each season. The only thing I can think of is Black, its as if he sets a reasonable budget and will be very displeased to say the least if Neilson or Finnerty approach him to attempt to bring in cover. Look at Clan, they've been garbage all season, yet their uber garbage players have kept a job.. Finnerty isn't the type to willingly keep deadwood so I can only assume Black has had some say in what goes off regarding firings and signings mid-season.
Going the odd game short benched, fair enough, but having season after season hampered by short bodies, regardless of European Competition 'influence'.. It's ridiculous.

That performance and the whole game was terrible, apart from Macgrattan,NIkiforuk and Wiikman. Other than in the last two seconds of the game, did we even create a decent chance in the whole of the 2nd and 3rd periods ?
As for players,it's about time Schultz was told.....either get out on the ice and play or xxxx off, because he's taking pee !!!

We played well in the first but then once fatigue set in we hung on the best we could.
Steelers aren't anything special and I was surprised they didn't create more considering our lack of bodies and lack of offence once Williams went off.
Was a rather flat game for a Sheffield match, really killed any potential atmosphere.

Anybody enlighten me on concussion injuries. I get they can take a long time to get over and symptoms can come back. However can you really be out for 3 months and then after that period of time be unable to play on a Sunday, but good to go 3 days later?

For a Sheffield game it was more than flat Higgy,it was punctured and deflated.
Surprising really, considering the size of the crowd which Panthers have as 5499......Hahahaha yeah right, not even close !
