Interesting that Brian McGrattan has both GWG so far this tournament, both times assisted by Farmer. Looking like a decent partnership building up there...

Will the Xsport stream be available on the IIHF website being as though we play Dombass as its a Ukranian Channel?

Seems the final will be in Italy. Well Ritten's arena only holds 1,200, I would hope that if we can get the arena for them dates that we would be able to beat their bid.

She doesn't know just guessing. If a arena which holds 1,500 get it over one which holds 6,500 there's some back handers somewhere

Seems the final will be in Italy. Well Ritten's arena only holds 1,200, I would hope that if we can get the arena for them dates that we would be able to beat their bid. They are also hosting this round IIHF rules in the World Championships are that a country cannot host 2 years running... what the rules are for the Continental Cup, I have no idea - but if the IIHF are consistent (consistency? In hockey? ) then you would have thought that a rink could not host consecutive rounds of a tournament. However, the possible contenders are:- Beibarys Atyrau (Kazakhstan) - Khiuaz Dospanova Ice Palace Atyrau - capacity 800 Shakhtyor Soligorsk (Belarus) - Stroitel Stadium - capacity 4200 Ritten Sport (Italy) - Arena Ritten - capacity 1200 Angers Ducs (France) - Patinoire du Haras - capacity 1090 Odense Bulldogs (Denmark) - Bryggeriet Vestfyens Arena - capacity 3280 and then us, of course... I may be reading it wrong, but it looks like the chances of the Belarussians qualifying are fairly slim... that leaves us and Odense as the largest-capacity sites... and us as the only large one that hasn't hosted yet. Nothing definitive, of course... but on paper you'd think we have a decent chance.

However it's been pointed out this morning that there is apparently a synchro skating event booked at the NIC that weekend... if that can't be shifted, we're screwed anyway. Edited to add link:- Synchro

Yes, as stated above. I was just curious as to the source of the statement that the final will be held specifically in Italy... especially as the final line-up has not even yet been determined. According to rumours flying around on Facebook (and you can believe that as much or as little as you like) the Panthers are already asking for the synchro event to be moved elsewhere... allegedly Sheffield have been approached already, and allegedly they have refused.

When has that ever meant anything with our arena? Exactly panthers move for other events ... so these can shift for this event simples

As far as I can see looking on the Arena calendar there is nothing booked for the 13-15 January, which according to the iihf website is when the final will take place.

Well the entry date for the skating is still open (9th December) and the headquarters of the National Ice Skating Association is also in Nottingham. I can see a deal made for it to be moved.
I don't know what sort of crowd they would expect, but perhaps have it in the other rink.

...and if our arena isn't available, which at the moment is the case, www.iceskating.org.uk/index.cfm/news/british-synchronized-skating-championships-2017/ it doesn't matter how small Ritten's arena is. Hopefully they can change the Syncro skating, but if they cant, they can't.

Proud that the team have managed to make it to the final, it makes it more frustrating that they've been able to produce performances we've seen this weekend and not in the league but we've heard enough about that. Hopefully we'll have a full squad from this point on!

The stats from all these officials are just silly.... The shots against us in the game v Odense says 33. Wiikman taking 26 and Pacl 7 but the period shots are 8,8 and 17 But as the goalie change happened at 42 mins you'd think Wiikmans would be not much after the 2nd period count of 8+8=16...YET he's given 10 more and Pacl 7 for the last period? Wiikman taking about 10 in that last two minutes he was in the game (the first 2 of the last period when he had to go off? ? In the HC Donbass game today we had 33 saves (considering Pacl off ice for the last goal...33+2 goals against him = 35 to me yet the sheet says they had 37 shots on us? It was us who had the penalty shot, not them, to even help if that had been included. Stats are so difficult at the best of time.
