I would argue in a professional sports set up the coach/manager should judge the mood & fitness/energy of the players & then decide what travel/accommodation fits best. Sometimes it's good to get them angry & rock up at the last min. Others times not so. For a one off game maybe. But three in three when we are probably not up to full fitness yet,I'd argue you should be giving yourselves as much rest as possible. We shall see, they might surprise us yet !

I'm travelling up Friday and when I get there I doubt I would be fit enough to run for a bus let alone think about playing three periods of hockey (even 30 years ago). People keep banging on that not having a tough guy will cause us injuries I would have thought that travelling up to Dundee on a bus then playing a game usually ends up being far worse.

Well as I said Iggy, judging fitness & the timing of this triple header making it as comfortable for the players as possible seems the obvious thing to do.

Want 6 points this weekend but feel we will get 3. Win at Dundee Loss at Braehead OT Loss at Fife Think Dundee are t he strongest team out of those three myself, they are very fast, are playing well as a team, and have good toughness.

Nice to see the usual jumping to conclusions.. I'd expect them to be going up tomorrow afternoon. Give them a nights rest before heading to Dundee. They went a Day early to France which was obviously Pre-Season, would be surprised if they treat this weekend with any less respect. Who jumped to conclusions? Who are 'the usual?' People just stating that 'if' (a few have used that word) we travel up on the day then it's not the best preparation, or words to that effect. You yourself admit that you're expecting the team to go up the day before and give good reasons why this should be the case. So it seems everyone is in agreement then?

There's only 2 'if' used on that first page besides in my replies, it's literally just the content surrounding those if's that seem to have people certain we're travelling on Friday. Whilst it may be worth saying and complaining on Friday if they are infact travelling up on the day, it has filled the game topic with a lot of potentially premature negativity. But you're correct in saying everyone's in agreement about the travelling, just slightly annoying seeing people submit to expecting the worst already.

Have you watched all 3 play? Dundee won a couple of games against an under-strength Caps playing a back-up goalie. Clan were also playing their backup. Clan and Fife have played competitive games. I think Dundee are the weakest of the 3 teams, but I'm biased as a Fife fan.

It's bit like reading the book then tell people the plot and then somebody altering the story line because they think it have a better ending, but it's the same old story, nothing changes does it Iginla

Can anyone definitely confirm if we've travelled today or not?
Some of you appear/claim to be in the know. Time to prove it.

If The Panthers play the way that they did in the Play-Offs last year (Belfast 2nd Leg, Fife and Coventry) then they should be fine. They were some of their best performances.

Team left just before the supporters and at this moment we'll probably get there before them as they are at a standstill on the A66 and we've taken a different route. It's the same every season and its bloody annoying.

The news on McGrattan's arrival should give the players a bit of a boost for tonights game and the rest of the weekend.
