This is not good, not good at all.
Whats the betting on the place not opening at all this season.
I cant imagine this scenario happening in any other sport, yet the powers that be allow 2 teams in our league to do it

This is not good, not good at all. Whats the betting on the place not opening at all this season. Nah - I think it'll open before the end of the season... looks like it's going the same way as the Cardiff rink, just a bit further behind. See what you are saying, but... it's not the clubs who are causing the delays, but the contractors. The clubs aren't experts in constructing these things - they have to take the word of the contractors as to whether the rink will be ready... and the league have to take that from the clubs. The contractors said that the rinks would be ready in time... should the clubs/league have heard that before the season started and said "no, we don't believe you"? I've no doubt that the league can be blamed for a fair bit... but I think it's a bit unfair to blame them for this. Anyway - what was the alternative? Tell both the Cardiff Devils and the Manchester Phoenix (who might not have survived another mothball year) "no, we don't believe you... sorry, you can't be in the league this year - and if you go bust, that's tough"? Fairness issues aside, our sport isn't exactly in a good enough state to lose many more teams and survive, is it?

I cant imagine this scenario happening in any other sport... The Wembley debacle hasn't exactly covered the FA in glory.

Totally agree with what Shaggy said.
If they'd turned round and said NO to both Cardiff and Manchester, then what would have happened?
It's hard enough as it is to keep Ice Hockey going, and we need to do all we can to support and encourage these teams.
Whatever problems we feel we have here with date changes etc - at least we've had a 'home' rink, and a good one, for many years. Let's face it, the facilities at Cardiff, and probably at Manchester are very basic, and it's been damned hard for their loyal fans.
We should all make the effort to go to our game when their rink opens - it's the very least they deserve.

I for one am just hoping that there isn't a Lions game on Sunday March 4th... either one of the two games needing to be rescheduled or a play-offs game (assuming we qualify - which I hope we do!). Either way, I promised several Manchester friends that I would be at Alty for our first game there, and I do not intend to let them down. The Manchester Phoenix fans have been a credit to the entire sport this past few years, and Neil Morris strikes me as being one of the most competent and honourable owners we've got. They deserve our support.

Wembley Stadium However its not affecting the week to week running of any club is it. A friend of mine is out of pocket large from this, flights from belfast and hotels cancelled. Not good. The contactors are to blame totally, they give a price and a time scale they dont meet it, dont pay them simple as. We have gotten way too liberal and soft in this country and allow big business to walk all over us, we shrug, 'what can i do?', too easy to say. I slag off one junior team and folks are down my throat, shame a similar passion isnt shown in 'real' life. Local elections soon, dont just vote what you think you know, look at the alternatives there are some viable ones out there now.

I've been past it several times on the tube and train over the past year, and I think it's right on schedule for the football finals of the 2012 Olympics. It's also got the same degree of budgetary accuracy.

Wembley Stadium Arsenal, Derby, Leic, hull, Doncaster, MK Dons, Bolton, Boro, Stoke, Saints, Darlington, Cov, Warrington, Widnes, Wigan, Hampshire, Durham, Twickers, Reading......... Pretty much on-time and on-budget. And these clubs all had a venue to play at whilst they were moving. I hope MK Lightning have more joy with their redevelopment.

But it won't be the same, watching an MK team without any odd railings obscuring the view, or going up without there being half a chance puddles will form near the goals.
