Hmm.... Good signing this one but not really 'fantastic' news, more inevitable than anything else.
Criminally underrated player by some on here. Happy with this but not delighted, he's no Jordan.

That Lawrence Brown Schultz line looks nailed on... at least it should be ! It could be our version of phillys legion of Doom line in the 90s it's a possibility pidge, listening Brown's interview with Seth Bennet he describes himself as a third liner bug believes he can develop himself in to a top 6 forward, we'll have to see what he brings I bet Lawrence and Schultz will be absolutely thrilled to be plonked on the third line ! Lol

Lol I think it'll either be a case of Brown with those two on the 2nd Line, or with Farms and Janssen on the 3rd Line. Certainly be interesting to see what he can do, can play in different roles and that's always a good thing to have. I really hope we get to see him play more of an offensive game as personally i think he'd do very well points wise.. Especially on the same line as his best friend and another friend of his.

Lines....y'all know CN's attitude on that front! Always makes me giggle when people try and speculate where guys will fit.
The speculation is fun and well thought through but CN doesn't give a hoot about all that, he wants to tinker because he lacks the ability to let things develop.
It's his main weakness and he's never been bothered to address it.

for gods sake, take a day off please Tell me that when we're struggling for goals. One import forward to sign and so far we have only one reasonably reliable scorer.....Schultz ! Clarkey will be back, but he's on the downturn now and goes through long drought spells, the other two top scorers from last season Kolnik and Bohmbach have gone ! Change the record, it's still May. Four line hockey needs six work horses, fact. We have a few point players already. Wait until the season ends in North America and then see what players come in. Him being in the bottom six is fine if we sign another goal scorer.

At least two of these have to be d men and that is if Oakford re signs, which would only give us six d (one short of what we should have). If Oakford doesn't come back, that means we really have to sign three more import d,because I can't see where another Brit d man is coming from. If we have to sign three import d,that means only one more import forward is left to sign. If that happens, then that last forward has got to be a serious serious 40 goal sniper ! On the other hand,if we go with only four import d,that means when a Dman gets injured (because he will) Mr Mosey will have to move back again so even more firepower is lost up front ! And another point.....where is our set up man,our Ling or Galbraith ? We have too many grinders.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time. And some you will NEVER EVER please - even if we signed a full NHL team then some would complain that we should have signed from "team A" not "team B" etc. - It amazes me how a player or team can be written off before a puck has even been dropped - I can see some arguments put forward but looking back on previous seasons, players you expect to perform well often fail dismally, and those you think are average often exceed expectations. A player who has had little ice time in the AHL or ECHL due to any number of reasons could sign for us and think "this is an opportunity to show what I can really do" The only similarity with Ice Hockey in the EIHL and other leagues is it is played on ice, so different opportunities arise - at least let the season start - eight teams out of ten failed to win any major trophies last season so we did not do too bad - (waits for usual suspects to yell "but we only came fifth in the league" again and again). We ALL know that, give it a rest.

And another point.....where is our set up man,our Ling or Galbraith ? We have too many grinders. You act like having no set up man cost us trophies, we have guys that can make plays. You haven't seen Brown yet so you can't even comment on him. Farmer can post assists, Lacho has that ability too. Moran can set up plays. We aren't full of grinders. We are stacked with two way players and that is what the game revolves around now. Gone are the days where you go for championships running on the back of a set line for points. Look at Steelers, they won the league with guys making plays across the whole squad, they had more secondary scoring during that last push than they did from their out and out snipers. We have time and the liberty of an extra import this year. Maybe stop sucking on lemons before anything has even happened. There's being sceptical and there's being bitter.

Who knows, it's highly possible but either way we have an extra import to sign this season and if the club are smart they'll sign one extra too. (Not expecting that to happen)

We ALL know that, give it a rest. The massive problem with this argument is that if it were true, then Caps, Flyers and Stars would win the league. But they don't even come close, and the reason for that is that the teams who win it are the ones with NHL/AHL/DEL quality in their team. Yes, occasionally you unearth a gem, but generally there's a reason that players have played at the highest levels in NA. The scouts and coaches for the top teams in NA are in their jobs for a reason.
