Whatever happened to pick & mix, don't you think it as a certain ring to it.

Both would be great signings but would love to see Finley, a massive 6' 8" sensible (looking at PIMS) stay at home D man who's not a afraid to play physical, something I thought we missed last season.

Heading to Europe is on Finley's mind but he wants to stay with Iowa Wild for another year or two before he makes the move across the pond. He's very settled with his team and they value him quite high so he'd be a very difficult player to persaude to move, plus he'd be too good for us anyway. When he takes the step over to Europe he'll probably find a place in the DEL or Liiga, before he drops down further to the EIHL. Finlay has a history of injuries too which is the main reason he didn't reach his potential, no doubt due to his size but his knee's and legs are definitely a slight issue.
Comrie lacks discipline and recently got suspended for 2 games and fined for Spearing in an ECHL Playoff Game. His team fell in Game 7 last week so his season is over. He is an agressive defenceman though and will get involved in the gritty, dirty stuff. Would be a solid addition, especially if he could be calmed down a bit but again, i don't think he'd be planning on heading over to the UK anytime soon whilst he's playing very well in the ECHL with AHL call-ups likely.

Brockhurst looks abit too good but would be amazing. And id be worried that Bell only played 12 games last year. But yeah other than that any 2 of these would be great.

rumored to us last year but then we got Lizon. I doubt he would come here he is a power forward in the AHL and ECHL at only 22 years old he could go on to be a top liner in the AHL or even a 4th liner in the NHL. Plus a lot of clubs would look at him as he can play defence as well as RW.

Mathers' Contract expires next month, Panthers don't need him but i get the feeling if anyone was to sign him.. he'd be a Coventry type signing.
He's young, quick and feeds off energy, throws hits and will fight. Unlikely to make a solid career out of the AHL and certainly not the NHL. He doesn't skate terrifically well and doesn't have much explosive agility, has a good shot though and is a good guy in the locker room.

Scout and Coaches/Teammate Reports! Oh ok and what section of The Cage are these on? If you only use the cage for your information you will he horribly under informed. I think pantherb probably has been reading around other teams forums and local news websites as you can get a good kine on this information. Maybe not formal coach and team mates reports but more than you'd get on here. Just like we very occasionally get fans from teams our players have departed too coming on for more information.

Much of what you sate Nate. Though with the Former NHL'ers, Draft Picked players (Any league) and veteran AHL'ers etc.. there are scout reports available, so it's a combination of those and digging around for information through team websites, media articles and interviews. Fans in NA love the development of players so there's many, many places to look. A lot of stuff on The Cage is crap, to put it kindly, it's always 'his stats are sub standard, poor signing at best' when people haven't read up or seen anything of the player but what's on EliteProspects or HockeyDB.

There was a very strong rumour last year about Brendan Cook or was that when we lost him because he couldn't bring his dog?

Darcy Zajac has just left SønderjyskE in Denmark. Played with Janssen for 3 seasons, with the Albany Devils.
Zajac is 'incedibly tenacious and miserable to play against.. loves to hit, excells on the penalty kill and led his team on the PK for 3 years straight.. Makes smart plays on and off the puck and is incredibly reliable'
It's also been said that if the WCHA had a trophy similar to the Selke Trophy then he'd have been a top contender whilst with North Dakota.
Sounds like a great two-way player, can do pretty much any task given to him whether it's play very offensively and get in the mix, play defensively and throw the body, hold onto the puck.
Nothing more to it than he played with Janssen and has spent the last season in Denmark, plays the style Corey wants to use.. Just a thought.

Whilst he sounds very good at what he does it doesn't look like he has ever been a point scorer and don't we have a lot of players like him already?

We simply need production now though. He doesn't appear to fit that role.
