Yes that would be ideal a guy who can fight and score. However in an ideal world lachowitz would not be in the team we would have kept cam and kolnik as well. I think we need to be honest Corey will go for an out and out cam style replacement not a sniper or a power forward. I'd prefer if the guy was able to put up points but the gritty physical element, the fighting ability is a absolute must.

I dont know why people keep talking about a sniper Corey has already said we're getting a fighter. The only question now is are we going to get someone who is 1 dimentional, or a guy who can either put some points up aswell. Or be a huge energy guy like Cam. It not unreasonable to hope for more than a knuckle dragger, but i fear thats what we'll get at short notice.

A panthers fan tweeted John Scott about coming over and his reply was 'sounds like a good time, how longs the season' Now that guy would make others sit up and take notice! He is very 1 dimentional. Its always nice to have the biggest fighter in the league but that not goig to win you games on its own. We need a power forward who will score points but can go when hes needed with the other big boys. I'd like him to win the fight but the willingness to drop the gloves is what actually counts. The rest of the team are there to win games, the enforcer is there to protect and hold other players accountable should they over step the mark. Having a guy of Scott's reputation on the roster would make a lot of players take note. Last year Cam had people looking over their shoulders because they knew he was lining them up, who's saying that Brown and Mac aren't going to be flying into hits this season? I'd take Scott, he's a beast and he's tough and he made light work of Westgarth and he was tough, and had draws against Cam so that says it all really. And put Scott out on the pp to stand in front of the keeper and let the other teams D try and shift him. Think he'd be a great addition to the roster and one that would defiantly send a message to the league that were not to be messed with. hes also been in the NHL for years so he will have picked up on coaching strategies, different plays, have good links to players, he could bring more then just fists to the table.

If there is anything to this situation with Scott then GM would be on it like lightning, he'd be an advertising dream and would definitely bring people in to the arena. I'd be happy if we got him though, I've got a feeling he'd be pretty useful on our team, not just for his fists though.

He could probably be a serviceable defenceman over here, in the Boris mould. Played there in the NHL at times. Lindhagen could move forward.
Can't see it though, got a young family, doubt the disruption would be anywhere near worth it.

The publicity from it would be incredible. The North American media love reporting on John Scott, he's Mr Under-Appreciated Hockey All Star to them so a move to the EIHL, following the likes of Cam Janssen and Kevin Westgarth, that'd be big news for them and if they report it enough i wouldn't be surprised if Sky Sports picked up on 'NHL All Star signs in the UK Elite League'.. Because obviously they take almost zero interest in hockey so they likely no squat about him.

We need a much offence as we can get . Steelers only have 4 import d too

People talk about our Brit pack, but I would take... Dowd over Clarke Phillips over Farmer Oconnor over Lee Phillips over Oakford As for Lacho v Ferrara, mmmm jury's out on that one !

www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=76520This fella looks decent and from his write up on ep looks a handfull and has had fights and won against some tough customers (eric lizon, phil oreskovic) and hes young so he'd be eager to show his worth, all of this is if we don't get John Scott of course

Really doesn't take no for an answer, but doesn't jump players, will just follow and keep chirping or pushing them. It's a tough one, he would be unlikely to get a shot in the NHL and AHL unless they become less lenient on fighting, doesn't put much up but PiMs in the ECHL, but a fan favourite and they don't seem to be overly bothered about fighting.. European Leagues wouldn't want him, unless Kunlun want revenge on that Goon for Barys. UK would surely be a future alternate option after the ECHL. Higher pay, more travel and he's young. Could be a good shout but he is a massive bundle of aggression.

Say we did get him it could be a similar story to Lepine as he came in and just wanted to punch people and wasn't the best player technically but Corey did his this and coached him to become a solid D man. if not and he can't be controlled and worked on as a player and is costing the team then you replace him

not a rumour as such but ive noticed Cornwall River Kings of the LNAH have folded. the team Erick Lizon had signed for this year. With Panthers needing a tough forward, and with his links & "nearly signing" in the past, 2+2=?

worth an ask, what was the reason he didn't come last season?

"GMB Panthers Head Coach Corey Neilson is actively rethinking his last spots on the team after tough guy Erick Lizon pulled out of his agreement to join Nottingham suddenly today.
The player has sent his best wishes to Nottingham but says he cannot come for personal reasons."
So could still be time for him to come but do we want him?

Kezy considering the money saved on the players not coming/signed so far I would think we could afford a lot better than Lizon..

Not after pulling out late last season and we need more than he would bring.

Justin Johnson to Panthers Only played 8 games last year. Points out put is poor. Dont know what the rest of his games like. But on the face of it wouldnt be a signing id be jumping for joy over.

Out n Out tough guy. But 35 years old and only 8 games last year. Would rather not. My prefered choice is somebody that can bring exactly what Cam did. Somebody to put the fear of god into the opposition, not necesserally with his fists but with the checks. Somebody to energise the team and the fans. And be able to stick up for his teams mates. Before Cam there were Goons and there were power forwards(Salters type). Cam was different to what we've seen before. Way more than a goon. If Johnson, or anybody else can bring that I'm happy enough. If not it has to be a Salters type(not a straight goon). Anybody we sign of that mould would have to be a wait and see. But they will have big boots to fill.

Justin Johnson to Panthers I'd be happy, at 6ft 1 and 100kg that's a lot of weight being thrown around, he can hit and fight and that's all that we need really. Could even stick him in front of the net on a PP and just get in the way of the goalie. Yeah only played 8 games last year and is 35 but in his 8 games he had 5 fights so it's proof he's still a willing combatant

Johnson was injured for parts of last season lower body injury so not concussion related. He's been in with the Marlies so potentially, if this guy was on Corey's radar.. He could've used Jeff Brown, to ask his brother, Connor, who is a Leafs prospect and played with Johnson last season, to contact him and pass on the details perhaps.. Take it from there. In terms of fighting, patchy record to start with but in recent years he's destroyed everyone. He has an incredibly hard punch. Go back to the 10-11 AHL Season, he KO'd Erick Lizon, Riley Emmerson & Myles Stoesz. Bobby Robbins the season after, Derek Mathers, Stu Bickel & John Scott a couple years later.. he beat Cam that season too. Beat Lepine twice last season. I'd be very happy if we signed him, plays the same position as Cam and is tougher. He'd undoubtedly be the best enforcer in the league. Edit: Connor Brown is in the UK at the moment, came over to watch Jeff play and has been playing golf with him, Lachowicz and Betteridge today! Could've popped into the office and held a conference call with Corey and Johnson Wish we could get Connor on a 1 week deal, have him play against Coventry and come to Amiens with us.
