I think we need the points contribution personally, so I'd go that way. I've never been convinced Corey is a big fan of enforcers anyway. Don't you think we'll get bullied without some kind of physical threat?

I would go with the tough power forward/scorer instead of an enforcer.
Because we look short on goals, but with Sertich and Spang both being supposedly good powerplay guys we could possibly be better getting bullied, let the opposition take the penalties......then kill them on the PP.

I'd expect a power forward to offer some fighting ability, but given what we've got signed I'd like to see a few more points on the roster. I'd be looking for Salters level, I don't think that'd leave us in the same position as we had when Max Parent was our de facto tough guy the other year.

I want a power forward seriously better than Salters........and we should have plenty of money left to go and get it !

I meant in terms of his ability with his fists, when required.

I don't want us getting bullied. Would rather rely on Lawro & his mates for the points with some proven protection than get a sniper in now. There's some big guys signed this season, we need to at least have a gesture of toughness on the roster.

Nice list dill, only Brittan is a possibly realistic signing imo.
Rest should get AHL gigs.
Edit - Beach at a stretch, perhaps.

Corey has already said that he is looking for a tough guy so that really throws a sniper out the window but at the moment I'd much rather that a tough guy over a sniper so we don't get bullied. If not we could possibly see a very bad year for injures. Having said that I would take a power forward over a tough guy but it would have to be a power forward who fought on a similar basis to the other tough guys such as Colt King/Leigh Salters just for protection.

Most teams have an enforcer this year without one of our own we are going to be bullied a fighter and big checker is needed, if they can contribute to our point total, great if not then they don't. We could sign a great scorer instead but they won't so us much good when they are cheap shotted repeated. They will get injured they will be nervous on the puck.

Injuries will happen whether we have an enforcer or not, given the instigator rule there's very little they can do about cheapshotting, unless they want to cost us some serious PIMs. Janssen's real contribution was with his aggressive forechecking.
Again, I'm not expecting a poncey euro goal getter, but there's plenty of spectrum between that and some bull necked canuck slugger.

He might not have made the pass but he put the pressure on the D to choke the puck up.

we still need a guy to drop the gloves stand up for his teammates and get the players going when the flow is against us. Who have we got for the fights now? Farmer? Against Fitzgerald and the new enforcers? Cam was a big player for us. We get another Tyson marsh incident who is going to bring them up on it? Noone really. Simple fact is cam gave our players confidence and protection. I'm all for a guy who does that but with even more points contribution but I still feel the physical element is very much required.

'Nasty' Nick Tarnasky would be perfect: www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=884631 years old and unlikely to be going back in the NHL, decent point production for a guy over 230lbs (15+5 in 59 AHL games last year shows that) plus he's as tough as old boots!

He's a LW though and Corey wants a RW to fit into Cam's place I think the advantage that we've got with the roster is that Clarke is comfortable on either LW or RW even though he's LH and if we signed a LW enforcer for the fourth line, Farmer is capable of moving lines into a different role. So there is room for manoeuvre.

So there is room for manoeuvre. We have several forwards who can play in different positions. Id rather Corey gets the right sort of player and then worries about where he's going to fit into the lines. Than get a guy who fits a slot but might not be exactly what we want.

Jamtin is a poor fighter, decent player though! Wouldn't be particularly pleased if he was signed to replace Cam.

Already have an agitator or two, we need a genuine tough guy/enforcer.

A panthers fan tweeted John Scott about coming over and his reply was 'sounds like a good time, how longs the season' Now that guy would make others sit up and take notice!

Its always nice to have the biggest fighter in the league but that not goig to win you games on its own. We need a power forward who will score points but can go when hes needed with the other big boys. I'd like him to win the fight but the willingness to drop the gloves is what actually counts.
