Panthers are asking the fans to vote for their favourite player and the most entertaining player on social media, what are everyone's thoughts?
Also can anyone remember all of the individual awards that the club gives to players at the end of the season?

Doubt Cam'll win the coach's MVP and stuff like that, fans favourite may as well be down the engravers right now though

Most of the awards are given out at a "money making" sponsors night - so unless you are one of the "elite few" then you never get to see - Odd one or two are usually given out after the last league game of the season - anyone want odds on "most entertaining player" - Lacho anyone?

I happen to be someone who is attending this night and it's nothing about being elite. It's part of the player sponsorship package and you get your shirt presented to you.

Sounds pretty exclusive to me Pies... Now for fairness sake if someone wants to sponsor a player and the club decide to honour this with a special presentation then it all adds to the value for money that is paid for the package but surely something like the "seasonal player awards" which all fans who have paid their money throughout the season and supported the players should imho have a say on cannot then see their favourite player be honoured unless they stump up even more money for sponsorship too and as I said imho this is wrong.
By all means have a presentation for the sponsors but to make this a part of the seasonal awards which all fans should have a say in not sure how the club can justify this..

Have no problem with the sponsors getting their night-in-the-spotlight, after all they have paid for it. And I will never tell any-one how they should or should-not spend their own money - but like the sponsors, all the season ticket holders contribute to the team, and should therefore be included in the end-of-season celebrations, without being asked to pay even more for the privilege - unless my memory has gone with age, they used to do the presentation after the last game - the last couple of years they have given out a couple of awards then but most have been at an awards night - all the players have done their best to entertain us throughout the season and feel that they should therefore be applauded by every-one, not just the elite few - the fans and the players deserve it - if the club want to make some more money then do an open-evening at the arena, with an exhibition game followed by a presentation

Never used to like the sponsor player awards nights (at the Meadow Lane Ground anyway). A room full of player stalkers at a full-on GM show and a huge long line of people waiting to have photos taken with the players who are desperate to get to the bar. Would rather catch myself in my zip.

I don't really have an issue with them being handed out at a sponsors gathering, I used to stay for it when it happened on the ice but it used to take forever and by the end I'd be a little bored, especially when they also handed the sponsors their jerseys at the same time. We seem to have so many different levels of sponsor for each player now too (2 x gold, 2 x silver), we'd be there all night. I guess some people would like to see it though and it does come down to ability to pay the entry fee (player sponsorship).

Would have thought that the sponsors would revel in the spotlight at an event in the arena

They tag the awards on to the end of the shirt presentations and it takes about 3 hours all in all. Most go to get the shirts rather than the presentation - I'd say it's a punishment rather than a reward. 3 hours of GM - you don't need an imagination to work out how that goes?!
Just do an episode of checking it out with the awards!

Also can anyone remember all of the individual awards that the club gives to players at the end of the season? If you mean what the awards are, rather than when they are presented, as I recall: Top points scorer Top goal scorer MVP (player of the year) Player's player of the year Coach's player of the year Most improved player Most entertaining player Gary Rippingale Award (team spirit) At various times I think we've also had: GMB player of the year British player of the year Fans' player of the year (used to be supporters' club player of the year) I may have missed some but they're the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm most surprised he didn't invent an award for "GM of the year" !

Will the player of the year fly over to collect his award or will it be awarded by satellite link, like they do at the BAFTA's
