...and a first call for Mosey... Standby for the gnashing of teeth on THF, what with him being a dual-national.

Why the hell has mosey only just been included? He should've been in the squad for the last two tournaments at least. Has he just got his passport?

OK couldn't see him on the list. Does seem crazy to name so many.

Liam will have to decline in the end because a dentist appointment or something, so let's just go without. The other EIGHT Panthers can try their luck in being chosen for the final team. Maybe to 'please' everyone but don't they all at least go to some sort of get together training camp. Or is that a dream I just had?

Joey has spent the last 7 years playing in the German lower leagues, 0.50 PPG in DEL2 so far this season.

Stewart plays in the ECHL and their season is ongoing throughout the Championships so he wouldn't be allowed to leave for it, he probably wouldn't want to anyway. Jack Prince has been a healthy scratch for most of the season so i'm guessing he's either declined or they've found a better player, it's University Hockey so it could just be a case of it being his final year so he wants to study rather than play.
Great to see Mosey involved, should help us out no end. He's got relatives from Leeds and has a British Passport i think, plus he's proved himself and committed himself to GB, deserves the call up.

Jack Prince proved to be a bit of a disappointment last year... was a lot less impressive than I was expecting... so no real shock that he's not been included this year. He's got plenty of years ahead of him to bootstrap himself up and get back onto the squad - if he wants it enough.
The inclusion that surprises/disappoints me is Ross Venus...he was very poor for GB in the Winter Olympics pre-qualifiers in Italy in February.
As for Mosey... including any dual-nationals is a tricky proposition. Part of the problem is that the GB coach has plan for the future... it's not just about this year. So a dual-national who might toddle off to some other country next season - no thanks, don't care how good he is. Mosey has signed for 2 more years for the Panthers, so will hopefully be available for at least that long. The other major factor is will he bring the right skills to the team? I'm with Herb Brooks - choose the right players, not the 'best' players. Mosey's versatility - forward or D-man - is a bonus, and his sheer speed could be a major asset. So... if Pete Russell wants him on the team... fair enough.

That will put some pressure on him, give him a chance to show everyone what he can do... Over to you, Jack
