The Rink Rush are proud to release ‘Voices In The Crowd’, a new charity e-book featuring 37 short stories written by ice hockey fans from across the UK and also includes a foreword by Premier Sports commentator Aaron Murphy. The stories cover the various aspects of what being a fan of ice hockey really means to them including the highs and lows of following a team from winning trophies to the kind of moments when you just had to be there. The book is available to download from Amazon on this link and is priced at £3.99 with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

Mods, any chance of pinning this thread to maximise exposure and, hopefully, sales for the charity?

Be nice for me if it were a hardback as I collect British Ice Hockey books. Perhaps a thought for the future?

Do I want 3 of Jono's stories on my Kindle... Not to mention the four (if you count the introduction) you get from me. Seriously, and I know I would say this but it's a really good read with some great stories and plenty of Panthers related content. Spik, we're not currently considering a physical version due to the costs involved.

Can you print e-books out? Could do so then stick it in a ring binder maybe?

Not to say I might not get this however. But if it were a book it would have to go in the collection. Most recent awaiting is a Belfast Yearbook which follows last years version AND Marc Twaite has his autobiograthy out.

I have the Mueder Mystery book 'Ice Cold Murder' completed but my next move is money...urrghhh

I understand about the cost. But I'd think yours would get it's money back. If it gets its money back then no money actually goes to the charity. The aim is to maximise the amount that goes to Cancer Research UK, thus the decision to go for the lowest cost option in the form of an e-book. Hope you will buy and enjoy even though it unfortunately will not be able to join your (probably unique) collection.

Apart from the probability that when seen on display there could be a good pick up. Then again you need to get it on show in a place like the Arena and that would infringe on Panthers.

It's been a week since we launched 'Voices in the Crowd' so we've got a quick update on where we are. So far we've raised just under £300 for Cancer Research UK from sales of the book, which is fantastic but obviously we want to raise much more. During this week the book has been the #1 sports best seller on Amazon and currently is #1 ice hockey best seller & #2 winter sports best seller. It was also in the top 1,000 Amazon best sellers overall during the week. The book has also received five 5 star reviews which is fantastic. Of course we want to keep the momentum up so if you haven't downloaded the book you can do so from this link.If you have already purchased the book please let us know what you think of it and leave a review on Amazon if you can. Many thanks, Jono Bullard On behalf of The Rink Rush team

Completed a review on Goodreads.com as well as Amazon. Love the book, don't normally post on the cage but felt I had to post as someone who knows the loss cancer brings. If you have a "Goodreads" account, can I suggest you leave a review on there as it takes a number of them before it bumps the book from 3 stars to 5 and it is a place a lot of people go through before making a purchase on amazon. www.goodreads.com/book/show/29240309-voices-in-the-crowd

A quick update. Our charity e-book Voices In The Crowd has been on sale for just over two months now and we’re delighted to announce that sales so far have ensured that Cancer Research UK will be receiving over £500. The book has been very well received by the hockey community and so far has had nine 5 star reviews on Amazon. If you haven’t yet purchased the book it is available from Amazon for £3.99 with all profits going to Cancer Research UK. Just follow this link to view the full details on Amazon. Paul Balm has also written an article about how the idea for the book was born and how it was put together. Follow this link to read his story.
