Does anyone know when the deadline is? I'm thinking we are certainly not getting that extra D we need.

Because Panthersnation,we are top heavy on import forwards and light on defence.
We have been very lucky that Schmidt has been an iron man and not missed a game in two seasons. If he got injured we would be really knackered on D,plus that stretch coming up of 7 games in 12 days when the Brits are already tired from a tough GB trip is really going to take its toll in February !

And no not a full quota of outskaters either whenever we can have two import netminders on the bench...

Belfast Cardiff and Sheffield are all carrying spare(s) and we've got an import sat on his bum in Madalora when we could have gone and got an extra D man to cover Dimmen who's been out for ages!!

Our defence Panthersnation consists of :- Schmidt who is very good and solid but slow. Dimmen who is very good but injured. Waugh who is reasonable but becoming disappointing. Mosey who is really a forward. Swindlehurst who is average ish. Lee who is a liability. And Oakford who isn't good enough.
Now compare that to Cardiffs defence......mmmm !
We need to lose a forward and sign a Dman, preferably one who can quarterback a powerplay, because Lee can't to save his life !

I think Swindlehurst is excellent and will continue to improve, got lucky with him. But we need Mosey up front, Dimmen back and another D. Wonder how our season would have gone, if Peckham had come as originally planned.

Watch Swindlehurst when a winger takes him on down the wing and then cuts round the outside of him and across towards goal Panther G. For a big guy he gets beaten far too easily. Having said that, yes I would keep him, certainly before Lee,Oakford or Lacho in the Brit stakes.
I'm glad we didn't get Peckham,I just cannot see him,Janssen and Ling in the same dressing room without problems !

And no not a full quota of outskaters either whenever we can have two import netminders on the bench... yeh as one player is injured not for any other reason If he is injured then he isnt playing,, cant really count an injured player, just like we couldnt count Schultz for nearly 8 weeks and not replaced, Couldnt count Wiikman when he was injured and not replaced till it had all but screwed up the season and now cant count Dimmen who the team are missing immensely as the brits in defence are just not all that good enough as a unit. When we more than likely win nothing at the end of this season imho it will be missed chances due to a lack of replacing 3 key players. In fact most likely one, IF Wiikman had been replaced a month before he was when the form was dropping for an intermittent injury then he may have been back for xmas and in all probability we wouldnt have lost all those games through poor goalie performance...

Everywhere else he's played, not doubting his talents as a forward but he's a defender, his speed is better used skating from the back to forward & hes scored more goals that way & created more than way than when playing as a forward. Also think oakford has improved a lot this year

That's you opinion Panthersnation. I don't disagree on Mosey, but the top and bottom of it is our defence collectively is not good enough by a distance.
Three years ago we got the D formula correct and won. Neilson obviously learned nothing from that, because since then we have faffed about with mix and match stuff or played short each season. That is why I believe he is a poor coach and should get the bullet !

Edinburgh have just loaned Zanette to Assiago, even with the fixture congestion and the fact that we have some weekday games looming, there hasn't been some 2 way deals announced.
I'm hoping that with the recent increase in attendances, they do have some money saved up so that we can bring in a spare D-Man. I know there is a fat chance of that happening.

"Money saved up" John ? LOL Jesus......they could have signed that 500 game Nhler that Belfast signed today four times and still have made money from next Saturday's crowd alone !

I am sure teams are not finished in making moves depends on player availability and the teams needs.

Corey has stated on Checking it Out that he's been looking since Peckham dropped out. Really? It's that hard??
He's spoke to 23 people recently so there's still a chance.

It sounds to me listening to that that its down to Corey that no one has been brought in and not Moran

Sounds to me typical BS to appease the disgruntled fans who aren't happy that signing a few temporary replacement players has cost us the league this season..

Some players we have came about due to relationships with the euro team/s we played last year and I doubt CN had a lot to do with that.

Belfast, Cardiff, Shuffield and Coventry have all picked up rated Dman in the last few weeks / months. CN is still looking since before the season started!! Who or what does he want? Duncan Keith, Drew Doughty? P K Subban to become available and give him a call? Perhaps him and the GM are on a profit sharing scheme, or pulling the wool over Blacks eyes.
Time for them both to go.
