The olympics will be a few months after the final! FEBRUARY. It's the qualifiers that we are part of. Fair enough!

How about we play them at the same time, half our squads going to each others yard. You could get a split screen up at the same time in both arena's showing the other game.
That would be great viewing.
I think I'm on to something here.... Consider this post copyrighted.

That schedule gives us 7 games in 12 days,we play every other day for two weeks..........YIKES ! In this case, hopefully this will give them incentive to keep Wiikman and Madalora and not release one of them and (I know I'm hoping here) they'll will sign a D-man for cover.
Also do my eyes deceive me, have we got a 2nd Leg, that can not be right surely?

In all seriousness, this competition needs to end a lot earlier than March. Hopefully Panthers and Steeler's higher ups might make something happen for next year due to this fixture congestion.

Good they have the same.
With that schedule, that's probably just stuffed Panthers or Steelers chances for the league title though.

I didn't think we had a chance of winning the league anyway. Of tonight's game I still can't help wondering how many we would have won by, if we had traveled up yesterday.

The game in Sheffield to be played at Ice Sheffield due to Arena availability. Maybe double it up with a league game for the full effect?

The game in Sheffield to be played at Ice Sheffield due to Arena availability. That's OK - we are organising a boycott anyway

You could have won by a few more if you didn't take your foot off after the 5th went in. After your goalie gifted the 1st Clan did nothing - didn't appear interested at all. One of our worst displays of the season - not sure why we bothered fighting back last week to give this display - was it just to get more tickets sold? Total control from Panthers from 2nd minute onwards.

David Simms Retweeted STEELERS OFFICIAL @steelershockey 31m31 minutes ago Lots of tweets overnight relating to the semi final Vs @panthersihc being played at @ice_sheffield - we have tried everything to play this Game at the @sheffieldarena but it is impossible. Our opponents have made it impossible for us on this occasion. The reason we are at Ice Sheffield isn't the fault of the Arena, the Steelers or Ice Sheffield. It's down to our opponents and their obstructiveness. David Simms @simmsey 24m24 minutes ago When i stood on the ice all those years ago and said what i said. I think I was right after all. Phil Cooper cooperphil156 @simmsey Classless!

The game in Sheffield to be played at Ice Sheffield due to Arena availability. I would bet a large sum of money that this will change shortly and the 2nd leg will be at Sheffield Arena.

I'm not so sure. Given the BS that Simms has been throwing at the Panthers organisation this morning and the issues of fixture congestion for both teams, I reckon Moran might stand his ground. At the very least he'll do it to fire up the lagging "Biggest Hockey Rivalry in the Universe*". *Ignoring bigger rivalries in Europe and North America.

I remember a week ago when Panthers fans were walking out of the NIC looking depressed as fudge as the Braehead left the ice fistbumping each other. Walking back to the car, I heard a few 'fans' talking about how sick they are of watching the Panthers 'lose' games and said we've pretty much lost the tie. Reminds me a bit of this forum...
I've got to say that I was a bit annoyed when we were losing after 53 seconds last night but I reckon our players are saving their best until the end of the season, when it counts more. By the end of Feb, we could be near or AT the top of the table, in a CC cup final and looking favourites to win the playoffs! I would say that the Panthers organisation will learn from their mistakes this season but if we win trophies, why should they change anything?

...By the end of Feb, we could be near or AT the top of the table... I'd be pleasantly surprised if it happened but I really doubt it, the title is really Braehead's to lose now. Braehead have 17 league games left, of which only 4 are against Erdhardt teams (2 X Panthers, 2 X Giants). Panthers have 16 league games left, of which 4 are against Gardiner teams (1 X Dundee, 1 X Fife, 2 X Braehead). For Panthers the other games include, - 3 X Cardiff - 3 X Belfast - 4 X Coventry - 2 X Sheffield. Worth bearing in mind is that included in this is a big clump of fixture congestion. - 17th Feb = Away at Coventry. - 19th Feb = Away at Belfast. - 21st Feb = Home for Coventry. - 23rd Feb = Away at Sheffield (1st Leg SF CC). - 24th Feb = Home for Sheffield (2nd Leg SF CC). - 26th Feb = Home for Belfast. - 28th Feb = Away at Braehead. 7 games in 11 days. The closest Braehead had to fixture congestion is 11th, 13th and 14th of Feb when they're home (Edinburgh), away (Manchester) and home (Manchester). I'd have their schedule over ours any day.

I am sure there will be some posturing to save face but at the end of the day in this league £££ talks every time. And how much do you think holding the second leg is worth over the first? If fans have to choose between a game that will be undecided at the end or a decider game the following day which one do you think they'd rather spend their money on? Remember, the CC games are midweek (awkward for childcare etc), not on the Season Ticket (so people are more likely to consider the value of attending) and crammed in a period of congestion (a factor for non-ST holders regarding costs). Also, how much do you think a potential final is worth to the Panthers?
