So both Cardiff and Shuff pick up quality imports at short notice but we are left, once again, with no news. If this club is serious about competing for the league we need a big D and good netminder in for the weekend... The lack of news is alarming, especially when our competitors continue to strengthen their rosters.

The lack of news is alarming, especially when our competitors continue to strengthen their rosters. In fairness, they've got time to get someone in before the weekend, it's only Monday. Although saying that there were mixed messages with regard a replacement netminder. The official site sounded more like we'd ride it out, with the Post suggesting later that we were looking for someone. What the truth ends up being I guess we'll find out.

I mentioned this on another thread, one article on the website suggested we are looking for a replacement but a more recent article suggests that Wiikman is on the mend and will be back very soon. (But not this weekend) I would be very hacked off if we went to the BBT with Green in goal.

Groundhog Day.
Title Rivals continue to show obvious ambition, spend the cash and again pick up replacements for injured players. We repeatedly limp along with NB/GM laughing all the way to the bank.

Regards our goalie situation, this has appeared and rumours starting to fly around. Maybe Marozzi (Asiago)? Pizza emoticon is the clue.

Very impressive stats last season. Any word on why he hasn't played at all this year?

The only thing the Panthers management are serious about is profit. We have been short of cover all season, resulting in the frittering away of several games in hand for little or no return. Their treatment of Wiikman has been criminal, exacerbating a groin strain by playing him injured. If no cover is sought for Wiikman before the weekend, then in my opinion our chances of league success will be seriously harmed and the club's ambition questioned. If the same circumstances were present at Belfast, Sheffield, Cardiff and Coventry the attendances would fall away but at Nottingham the fans loyalty is abused by both Moran and Black.

Exactly Mark,you are spot on.
And if not signing cover is bad enough, now they rub it in by spouting on the Panthers o/s about record crowds over Xmas and how brilliant the fans are.
If only we had team management commitment that was "SECOND TO NONE" to match the fans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We know for sure that Wiikman has a groin injury do we? When I spoke to him in Scotland he was holding an ice pack to the inside of his groin (left side), either he was treating an injury or restraining his excitement of seeing me. My money is on the injury

We've got to sign a player or two, surely? No offense to Greeny as he's a great guy and loyal backup netminder but he just isn't Wiikman quality and we need at LEAST Wiikman quality to be able to win some of these games that we have lost in the last 15 or so.

Meanwhile, the Steelers sign Conny Stromberg......
....and as things stand, Dan Green is still our starting goalie.

If the panthers go with Green on the weekend, I feel that there is no more positive indication that they care nothing for winning the league and don't give a toss about being competitive. The opposition have signed players to strengthen parts of their team. Strengthen! Not shore up a short defence, not to sign an injury cover but make trying to make the team better. Us, we play with 2/3 of a defence squad, an injured netminder (play a game, miss 2, play a game, out!!), wait for 2 forwards to be out injured before signing 1.
I bet GM reads this 'little forum', because there is no way that he wouldn't want to know what's being said about his team. So come on gary, get your finger out of your orifice (or your tongue out of NB's) and get things sorted. It might be Corey who coaches, but he dances to that someone pulling the strings.

If he thought that's what everyone here wanted he would make sure that we didn't just out of spite.
