ok i think dan green should get the no1 spot until mika is fit and any replacement takes the back up place.
even if the replacement is a name in the game ie broduer price raask fluery etc.

You'd play Green before any of those goalies? Are you his parent?

Miika is clearly not right at the moment, this is a blow as it won't be easy to bring in a quality goalie short term - Pinc is a prime example of that.
Green did ok but the D needs to protect him and stop getting too high up the ice, Green is a more than capable backup but can't do it all on his own.

Matt Davies mattdavies_NP 13h13 hours ago Told Miika Wiikman has a relatively minor muscle strain. Doesn't sound long term but has to be doubtful for Manchester tomorrow.

Pinc looks to have settled now at steelers who have won five straight and only conceded six in them. This also coincides with their main imports back from injury though.

We need to get an import in, Dan does a good job when he's in and can clearly play the position well but I feel if Wiikman is out for a while then we should get ourselves an import goalie. Kwall I can't see, new job back in NA although it would be the fairytale ending if he came back and led us to glory. Modig was good, has he played anywhere this year? Would like to see someone come in who's had game time this season so isn't so rusty

Im sorry but this sounds exactly like normal panthers spin to me... lets delay and procrastinate and maybe we don't have to do anything or spend any money... just remind me exactly how long did it take the steelers to get pinc in, less than a week was it?... Its simple, the goalie is the MOST important position in british ice hockey (or just ice hockey) IF our import goalie isn't fit then get another import goalie and do it quickly before the season is well and truly over at xmas yet again... if not it will look like yet another typical corey neilson season at the NIC...

Maybe this is why Hardy just got gassed.....to free up money to pay for a replacement import goalie.
I bet Corey is on the phone to Kevin St Pierre right now. Haha

Mikka had an ice pack on the inside of his groin/thigh following last weeks Fife game, he said then it was a minor strain and he'd be fine for this weekend. Is this the same injury... I don't know. However this is twice now he has started possibly not being 100% game fit. I'm sure he would insist to CN on playing as he's very competitive. In hindsight perhaps CN should have just rested him and started with Greener from the offset, might have meant last minute tactic changes but maybe also not conceded soo many early goals?? I suspect get him match fit again and we'll see him performing as he did when he first joined, I don't see any reason to get another goalie in. With Hardy now gone our defence will also tighten up...

Anyone know when Plante is back for the Steelers, If we are in the market for a short term replacement, it wouldn't surprise me if they are waiting for Pinc to become available. In a way it makes sense as he's in the country, he's a Euro and has recent Elite League experience.

Oh dear Thommo, you just gassed the wrong one. I'd certainly agree ability-wise. But in the EIHL, where backups are not necessarily the best, you need your first choice to play in almost every game and if you have lingering injury concerns you can't take the risk. The question is not so much "is Plante better than Pinc" it's "is Pinc better than having to play the backup when Plante is injured again". Hopefully Wiikman's injury won't be serious enough for Panthers to be caught in the same tough situation this year.

Pinc isn't a young man though,he's about 36 or 37 years old I think.
