So Sheffield have got some pretty erm unique Christmas jerseys lined up... www.sheffieldsteelers.co.uk/hot-off-the-press-the-new-steelers-christmas-shirt/But the question is will they be allowed to wear them due to each jersey having its own unique caricature of the player on it?! As according to the IIHF Official Rulebook: RULE 40 – UNIFORMS/SKATER i. All players of a team must be dressed uniformly in matching sweaters, pants, socks, and helmet. ii. All sweaters of a team must be of the same design, including logo on the front, numbers on the sleeves and back, and nameplate on the back. Now I'm not really fussed about them wearing them or not but I am all for us kicking up a fuss and not letting them wear them just for the pure hilarity of the ensuing fallout. Having also read that section of the rulebook I noticed: xvi. All players on a team must wear the same uniforms and sweater numbers in the pre-game skate as they do during the game.So does this mean no teams should be allowed warm-up jerseys?

They are revolting and you're right, they do seem to go against the rules. But then so do we, the final rule about warm-ups doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

The CHL top scorer shirt (and therefore the Swiss NLA top scorer shirt) also breaks this rule I believe.

I dunno about the IIHF rules, but there's a really offensive symbol on them. Amazing they're happy with it.
The one on the hat, just above the advert. Disgraceful.

Didn't the Caps have to borrow previous seasons game worn jerseys from their fans once due to an issue with their uniforms?
They wouldn't have all been the same either.

I told you, we don't have a rule book.

It would take at least a goalie cut to fit the British poodles head on one.

Are the IIHF rules relating to International games for Countries perhaps?

Several teams use different shirts in the same game as they put personalised sponsors on them.

Valid point NYR, I think several teams still do have their players national flag on the shirts... Blaze & Giants??
