Rene Jarolin has just been released by Milton Keynes, I say we get him in the line up for this weekend at least. He's in the country no need for visas and knows the league and Edinburgh rink

Not a bad shout!
We could do a lot worse at such short notice with no paperwork required.
Purely out of interest, is there any reason given as to why MK have released him?

Id be up for it. Another body can't hurt, knows where the net is and doesn't take pims.

Would make sense if only for this weekend. However a proven Elite League goalscorer and could be exactly what we need.

Purely out of interest, is there any reason given as to why MK have released him? Under-performance. I've always been unimpressed by Jarolin when I've seen him at the NIC, I know he's put up good numbers for Caps in the past but I never saw it.

And 17 assists. I don't think his point production is the problem, I imagine it's his point production per pound spent on his wages...

Enough is enough !

BTW we don't require a superstar just someone who will share the workload and give others a breather. He's half decent at this level too.

There's no confirmation on Ling yet, he could easily be in the lineup at the weekend, and Farmer's back to take up Mac's place.
Just seems a bit desperate to me, an EPL cast off. They've had months to find someone if they wanted, surely Rene Jarolin isn't suddenly the answer.

It is a no brainer as far as im concerned it will cost us his wages for a week or two and will give us an extra body. farmer takes up macs place but we are still playing short. He isn't a long term answer but would certainly be this weekends answer at least. the more bodies the better. People were crying out last season for us to have Cownie and hook in the line up to help us through injuries and im sure Jarolin will do a better job than either of them would have done.

That's because we are desperate! Potentially 3 imports plus the 13th import short. If we don't get at least 3 points this week I ll be disappointed. Can't expect much from farmer after just coming back from a 6 week lay off !.
Can't keep relying on brits to get us through this

I just think if you're looking at it saying "We're men short, we need a replacement", you should've been doing that last month, and should've had no trouble finding a European (at least dual national Euro) to bring in properly who addresses whatever aspects you want. Doing nothing and then suddenly signing a guy, largely because he's in the country, would seem a very strange course of action.

This is exactly the point. No idea what the club have been goofing around (not) doing for the past month. Jarolin is by no means a long term fix but I think he could do a job in Edinburgh and maybe stick around for another week. Farmer won't be back to full fitness this weekend as he's been out for so long and Ling (if he plays) won't be 100% either.

Smacks of signing someone of the ceman mold when Tess left us that season... ill thought out and a sign of desperation and as pointed out the club have had months to fill the vacant spots on the roster... however, we are were we are and as a temp fix to fill a gap NOW I dont think there is a lot of alternatives...

Short term for us perfect. He got 92 goals in 152 games for Edinburgh, that's some going.
Bet there are a few people wondering how on earth these "expensive Euros" end up in the EPL at Milton Keynes eh !

17 assists says it all, we've got guys who can put it in the net in Bohmbach and Clarke, let's get another guy in who can tee them up

Maybe it's just a case of Jarolin not being happy playing at the lower level and asked to be released. Gives him chance to see what bigger clubs like him or the option to retire. 22 Points from 20 Games is good, lower level of course but still not bad. Put him with players of our calibre and who knows what he'd be like!
I'd like to see him with us short term, maybe even for the rest of the season if things went well. Only concern is his history with Edinburgh, he's a cult player for them and i'm sure he's aware of that, maybe he'll never sign for an Elite League club who isn't Caps.

I don't advocate bringing him in till the end of the season, but I'd certainly bring him in for a month to cover

To me there can never be enough goal scorers and with his track record in Edinburgh and considering how weak they are, I'm surprised that Coventry hasn't snapped him up.
