Team need to show up for this one! First time in a long time we are 2-0 down to them in games played early in the season. Need two points, lose this one and each match against this lot will get harder and harder.

Not even close to a sell out with a few days to go. The club will be quite disappointed with ticket sales for this one. A real shame as I love a sold out Arena.

We still have to play them 2389 times. I can see why people are getting bored of the hype. Still expect a near sell out.

Love a sold out arena when I'm sat in my seat and game on but nightmare when trying to go concourse/get a drink etc Still expect it to basically be a sell out lots of tickets will sell as we near the night Halloween could have affect on attendance maybe though

I'm going to this one. We've shown we can put some beatings down, let's beat them, then beat them up. Put on a show for the fans after that dire cup game.

Have to be careful that we do not get too many penalties in this game as every one will be reviewed by the DOP's and suspensions will follow - New EIHL rule no 42 - any opposing player coming within 2mtrs of a Steelers player may be liable to penalty and/or suspension even if no penalty is called at the time - Alleged incident may be reviewed by DOP's at any time after the game has completed if requested by Steelers - this does not apply to any other team

Bit harsh given that the Belfast players were suspended after a review request by Cardiff.

DOPS will be watching seeing as we play Shuff on Sat lol

Bit harsh given that the Belfast players were suspended after a review request by Cardiff. Yes but they were both called on the night and upgraded by the DOP's - The latest one for the Storm was not called on the night, did not get any reaction at the time, and was only reviewed after a request from Steelers - if you look at how many teams have had players suspended whilst playing against Steelers as compared to other games it does look a little one sided - hopefully Storm will do the same as Cap's & Giants and beat them even though they are now short handed

We're coming down to this one on Saturday, but for a change, we're thinking of going to Derby for a few pre game beers.
The possible hit list of pubs I've come up with are:
Spoons Flowerpot Silk Mill The Tap Exeter Alexandra Hotel
We like real ale, especially the stronger ones.
We'll probably have about 4 hours in Derby, so that's likely to be the maximum number of pubs we're going to sample. Could any Derby located Panther let me know if there are any pubs on that list I should be replacing with somewhere else, but it needs to be in the same sort of location.
As for the game, I never do pre match predictions, but based on recent form it should be a relatively tight affair. You're the best team I've seen at the arena this season and I still think you'll be the most likely to challenge Braehead for the title, but if Schultz is out long term you'll need to bring in a decent replacement.
All the best.

Hi Doom The flowerpot and Alex hotel are musts! The furnace is also very good and I've heard good things about the micro pub, the last post, but not been there. Although from Nottingham , we go on local pub visits by train ( Derby, Newark, Sheffield). I have two or three very good Notts real ale circuits worth a try next time you come to Nottingham which end in central Nottingham and they include a dozen or so pubs of the level of say the Kelham Tav.
Cheers

I'd be interested to see your Nottingham real ale circuits.....Perhaps a challenge for the play-off weekend. Thanks for the info. Regards Doom

The Brunswick across the road from the station is also a very good pub.

Players galore short. .. turnover after turnover in defence not strong enough on the boards in our own end. This could be a ugly scoreline ..

The Brunswick across the road from the station is also a very good pub. Because of the time available we'll probably do one of the Brunswick or Alexandra. I tend to prefer the Alexandra, although I'll probably check their beers on line before making a decision. With the Brunswick being close to the station we've jumped in there a couple of times on our way back from Nottingham whilst we wait for the train to Sheffield.....It's usually a very swift pint though. Thanks for the suggestion. Regards Doom

I wouldn't worry too much, our defence is also looking very fragile at the moment. After our recent performances I've been worried it could be a cricket score in your favour, so your post gives me a little bit of hope. It sounds like both sets of supporters will be going into this with concerns about their team. Regards Doom

Just to add, don't worry if you put us on the powerplay, I worked out the other day that we're statistically more likely to score 5 on 5 than we are with a man advantage......How poor is that for a powerplay?

Out of interest, if given the option now, would you be happy to bring in your final import but at the expense of losing Matt Myers to one of your main rivals?
I've just realised, I've put this on the wrong thread.
