He's signed with the Nurnberg Ice Tigers. A guy who struggled recently with quite a grim past but still a high calibre player for Europe.
We probably wouldn't of been able to afford him but it's a good sign of free agent depth that's out there. I wonder if Corey is waiting for the NA training camps to conclude before signing.

Thats some Stats, this a quote from Ice Tigers web site. Dany Heatley is one of the largest commitments in the history of the DEL . We are very pleased and happy that he has chosen to play for the Ice Tigers in Nuremberg , "said Ice - Tigers sports director Martin Jiranek . " We have been more than a month with Dany in contact , he is friends with several players with us . He does not come for the money , he comes because he wants to play in Nuremberg . The obligation of Dany Heatley is a win , but also for the entire DEL not only for the Ice Tigers . " Its Dany not Danny www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=3664

We met him when he played for the Senators in 2006, we were introduced to him, Jason Spezza & Brian Mcgratten downstairs at the Canada Air Centre when they had just beat the Leafs. Wade Belak played for the Leafs at that point aswell, he got battered by Mcgratten in that match. He's got a very chequered past but a very good player.

I'm surprised with all that happened he had a career. I know fans are polarised about those issues but he can certainly play. The DEL should allow him to enjoy himself on the ice.
