It might be good business NYR,but it's bloody annoying as a fan to feel you are being treated like a fool and played like a fiddle. Which is exactly the reason a once avid avid fan like me who doesn't miss a game is often thinking of walking away from Panthers for good. And I'm sure I'm not the only one........Now that isn't good business ! I can honestly say I don't feel like I'm being treated like a fool by the club in this. It's evident what their marketing strategy is and they're playing it out, so what? It's not hurting anything or anybody. It just makes sense to spread out the signings even if you take out the season ticket deadline, if out whole roster was announced now you'd be looking at 2 months of content about shirts, new sponsors, sponsors re-signing etc. and people would complain about that, it's a lose lose situation. There is no right and wrong when it comes to 'when should you announce your signings' (if they are in fact already signed). Personally I couldn't give a monkies when they're announced (before or after season ticket deadlines) so long as they are. Who knows what the reason is. Change of plans, trying to get a particular player, change of minds, everyone on holiday? But keeping signings under wraps to play the fans would be pretty unique amongst just about every other professional sport I would think.

Not a lot coming from Panthers, no signings since 2nd June, not sure if thats the season ticket date (30th June 9pm) or just protracted negotiations, hope they are not waiting until after season ticket deadline to announce these big Import singings, this date could be a difference of maybe 200/300 fans buying a season ticket or not (i'm still a not) come on Panthers just something to feed on during close season!!!!!!!!!!

Some people believe we are delaying the announcements, so that when you see how good the team is you will have missed the early bird discount and have to buy one at full price.

The OS seemed to say signings were imminent on 9 June. Nothing like making yourselves look a bit silly.

At this stage wouldn't the more likely conspiracy theory be that they're holding the names back until after the ST deadline, so no fence sitters are put off by the 3rd coming of Bruce Graham? I'd like to know how many people buy STs in this period actually, if it's more than a couple I'd be amazed.

I would be staggered if there are many that are likely to be swayed either way though. Someone did say to me last week that they do not expect any of last seasons unsigned imports to be coming back now though.

Agree, there must be so little business to be done at this point on that front. It'd be very odd to me if anyone ums and errs past the early bird deadline and then goes for it. Can't see any value in holding player signings back now, other than to spread out the news.

I for one have not got a season up to this point and I will not bother if the 6 remaining import are as ingla put it very eloquently puts it "average Joe's" like last season. without at least 3 or 4 stand out players I'am afraid it will be same mid table team.
I'll pick and choose my games like last season

Don't think you will have time to make the decision anyway. Cant see us making any signings before the deadline. If we do it will only be at the most two.
TO ADD: I thought we might have been signing someone while CN was travelling back? or did that not go to plan ?

With a bit of luck the delay will be because CN is being super picky and very cautious and if that's the case he can take all the time he needs (fingers crossed on that one)

I agree The Flying Shirt I would much rather us wait and get the right signings. Just wondered what happened to the signing that looked "Imminent"

Just wondered what happened to the signing that looked "Imminent" Panthers learning that when they say "we only announce signings when the ink's dry" they should actually do that, instead of resorting to carrot dangling?
