Out of all the teams these two manage to play each other again.
Group 11: Lukko Rauma (FIN) Lulea Hockey (SWE) Fribourg-Gotteron (SUI)

From that we can surmise that Ingoldstadt isnt going to know whats hit it, and that the national debt in Sheffield is going to increase.

True, if anyone's going to have a go at drinking Bavaria dry...
Kinda jealous actually, the CHL was good fun.

"David Simms @simmsey 2h2 hours ago This is without doubt the biggest and most serious competition @steelershockey have ever been involved in @championshockey 2 retweets 10 favorites" Well well well - I don't think that was the view last year when we were in it.

Good luck to them both.
Sheffield have a really tough draw, Clan have a winnable game.
Hope their fans get behind them.

So, gets underway this week, both sides away in Sweden.
Any chance for either of them? Will Clan be at full strength?

knowing what we know about the panthers side last year, and we conceded 10 away in Sweden, i would like to think both Braehead and sheffield wont concede any more than 7 or 8 and maybe sneak a couple of goals, although itll be very hard going.
Vaxjo 7-0 Braehead Frolunda 8-2 Sheffield

Vaxjo 7-0 Braehead Frolunda 8-2 Sheffield I hope both teams get absolutely battered both on the scoreboard and otherwise. I doubt many of their respective fanbases truly subscribed to "I'll support Panthers because they represent the EIHL" last year (and why should they have?) so why should I? Despite bringing in extra players the battering we took in the CHL kicked our legs out with regards the domestic campaign, which garnered little sympathy from other teams (though much scorn about depth of the squad), so the least I'm hoping for is a slice of karma. Not wishing for serious long-term injuries to players, just similar inconvenience to that which dogged us.

I think there's value in British teams putting in a reasonable showing, it paints the Elite League in a better light if we're able to send teams who don't just get steamrollered 4 times, and will help raise awareness of the league, particularly amongst Euro players.
I think they'll both get beat on Thursday, but I wish them well and hope the fans enjoy the experience.

I just have a sneaky feeling Sheffield will surprise alot of people. If the Swedes think they can steamroller them I think they'll be in for a shock. Can't imagine Braehead doing that well if they don't have the rest of the squad here in time, cant understand why they've left it soo late. Anyway I really enjoyed it last year so although I don't support either team they represent our league so I hope they give it a real good go and thoroughly enjoy themselves.

Sheffield are up against the runners up from last year, can't see them getting anything , Braehead are up against a team who were playing in the Swedish 2nd tier not that long ago. Both teams will lose but Braehead won't lose by 10 or more.
We are missing a few players, Brooks flew into Glasgow on Sunday so he'll be in for Thursday, just hoping McIver and Bruton can arrive soonish.
As for the other 2 teams in each group, JYP will win home and away, Ingolstadt will be up against 2 former players on Saturday as Brendan Brooks makes a quick return to Saturn Arena. Our Captain Matt Keith also played there during the 2008/09 season, I could see Clan lose away but win at home hopefully by which time we'll have our full roster.

Here in sunny Gothenberg. Lovely city. Don't think for a minute steelers can pull out a win here. Its about remaining competitive for the full 60 mins. Theses guys won't have a mind set of just turning up.

4-1 now, and Sheffield a goal down.
Great seeing the Gamecenter updates coming through again, wish we were there.

Clan are on Premier. Five one end of first. Not defending very well and being killed when short handed.

Is Holt in nets? Text updates keep saying Russell but seems unlikely?

Steelers only 2-0 down end of 2nd period
Make that 3-0 down less than 2min played in 3rd period

Just shown highlight Panthers CHL last year not pretty to watch, to be honest I'm pleased Panthers are not in the CHL, wouldn't mind being in the other Euro tournament the one panthers played in 13/14 season, is it Coventry in that one?
