Gutted. Really hoped we might see some sense and tempt him back here. Nice one Panthers.

Never rated him for us, never rated him for Braehead against us, probably won't rate him for Cardiff either.
Usually had one or two good shifts a game, generally in the first period, but went missing for far too much of most games, especially the important ones. Everyone raves about his performances for Clan, but when they needed someone to step up and show real leadership on the run-in he was anonymous for far too much of the games I saw.
Might crop up on a lot of highlight reels, but I prefer a player you can count on when everything's on the line and I've seen nothing yet to convince me Salters is that type of player. Hopefully he will prove me wrong again next season!

He's PPG (just over) in both seasons in the Elite, and in neither is it padded out with Elite League assists, half his points are goals more or less. Add in that he can mix it with pretty much anyone, can't really see why any team over here wouldn't want him.

I also have a feeling Devils are going to get the best out of him. His third season over here so should be well equipped. But I do agree with Ian that he can go missing in games when it suits him. Would take him back though for sure.

Hopefully Ian is right this year and salters bombs but time will tell, seems he went to Cardiff for the MBA offered nothing at all with really really liking Cardiff as the best place on earth!!!...

Monstrous player on his day. Another terrific Devils' signing imo. They could be very scary next season.

If you use stats to back up a point, then its quite valid.

If you use stats to back up a point, then its quite valid. They are totally different players with completely different styles. As well you know. If you could have one of them on the team next year who would you choose?

I would not want either back, as I believe there are better out there.
It's like asking do you want shooting or hanging!
For a player who can stand up for his team mates Salters has put up good numbers, but for me he is nowhere near consistent. Although if he was, he would not be playing over here. Lawrence is as equally frustrating, and in a similar way with more consistency could play at a higher level.
Both, when bothered, I would have in my team, but I want players who are bothered for the full 60 minutes.

If your comparing signing Salters and being shot I might as well give up on this one....

I honestly don't think there is a team in our league that wouldn't take Salters, and that says it all to me. I have wanted the Devils to sign him from the first time I watched him playing for you guys, and when he moved I felt for Panthers fans, as he was a warrior, Clan fans loved him, and are gutted he is gone, now everyone can't be wrong surely. It's taken 2 yrs to get him in a red shirt, and I for one are well pleased. Just hope you guys sign the type of player you and us all need, a classy tough guy that keeps everyone on the edge of there seats.

When is the league Championship trophy being presened to Cardiff? We may not win the league, there again we may. We may not retain the Challenge cup, there again we might. We might not win the play-offs but there again we may, but I honestly believe like this past season we finish higher than yourselves. That's not a dig just a belief, I think your club needs a real shake up, it's probably the biggest club in the league and needs to start acting like it. Remember we are a 2000 fan club punching above our weight, are we chuffed about that we sure are. All I know is that the league needs a stronger Panthers team, and I am sure the fans want the same. Anyway the post was about Salters, and hopefully he will stay in Cardiff for many years, we have always been a club for signing tough guys, not to everyone's liking but usually to ours. Happy Hockey Days

Happy Hockey Days You also said Myers was guaranteed not to be back so forgive me for not reading too much into the "I believe we'll finish higher than you" In all seriousness though, I don't get all these comments from fans at this stage "oooh they'll finish here, and they'll be there". We've signed 14 players between us. Things can change in an instant. Let's just see how things pan out
