Why would Ryan Hayes want to come to Nottingham? he turned us down to go to Caps for more money but the grass wasn't greener on the other side, from Thommo's interview he couldn't quite hack it in our conference either. I just wouldn't risk upsetting our team at the moment no matter how good he is. Just my thoughts tho'

Its hardly a risk to the team at present with the likelihood of winning anything being pretty remote. I am not saying I want Hayes but it cant really hurt the team anymore than not signing temporary replacements for injured players.. can it?

Perhaps someone can email the eliteprospects link to CN as he seems to have problems finding what could be a suitable player.

Funny stuff.... We all know IF they do sign anyone it'll be on the eve of the next game so they fly in on the morning and are massively fatigued for the game. Its the best policy.

Looks quality but i think if we had anymore play makers every game would be 0-0 and we would have 100% possession haha!

Toronto are shipping endless players out to reduce their wage bill, wonder if it would be worth Corey get on the blower to them see if he can't get someone. Now for the serious business I think it might be Curt Gogol.

We need 2 in and we need them fast. 1 sniper, 1 stay home d man. We've left it so late we can't really be too picky. Big test for Corey

Looks OK. They needed to act pretty quick with a game tomorrow.

Only OK ?......are you joking Yotes. That is some fair old resume that guy has got.
He looks to me like he would have been a pretty good replacement for Ling !

He looks good, more of a play maker than a sniper, and I think that's what we need to be honest.

Indeed Mattscold.
Meanwhile,Neilson is scouring the world for ECHL drop outs and the minor leagues of Latvia and France for a second rate Dman and if we're very very lucky a two bit forward who wasn't injured too badly last season !!!!!!

He's pretty old now, last 3 or 4 years he's been knocking about leagues closer to ours than they are the NHL. I'm not saying he's rubbish or anything, and I'd not be unhappy if we added someone similar, but it's not an earth shattering signing to me. He also says he's a defensive forward, so doubt he'll be putting up Ling numbers.

And yet you assume it's Corey's word that trumps all regarding our signings. Look at Mosey, hardly top end CV yet arguably the biggest asset on the team, looking at the numbers is all well and good but you have no idea what a player's attitude or on ice tenancies are like.

Corey's word means nothing Shmyro. If Mr Black says no I'm not paying that much for him, then we don't get him,it's happened loads of times.
I like Mosey,he is a decent enough player, but vastly overrated by Panthers fans in my opinion. Take away his speed and there is not a lot else there, but he's very cheap though !

What you mean then Yotes,is that the guy Braehead just signed has a very similar last few years to Ling, but is five years younger !
Mmmmm.

I'm not saying the guy is a total direct Ling replacement,we aren't going to exactly replace him. But this guy is experienced,he's old,he's a passer and he's played most of his career in very good leagues, all similar to Ling.
Now,if we get somebody of similar calibre or better then fine, but if we end up with the usual Panthers spin saying nobody was available so we're going with Ollie Betteridge, then that is just taking the mickey !
