Is that sarcasm?
The goalie stats look underwhelming at best.

Neither look brilliant but neither look awful.. Unice has better stats overall than Giants' Chubak and he turned out to be a decent signing. Petruska looks like an average forward, put up fairly good numbers though.

His college stats look OK to me. No real pro career to base a judgement on, could turn out to be their next Lehman for all we know.

The goalie looks poor but Petruska should be good, any player who scores 20 goals in the Slovak elite league can play hockey.
Very strange the Steelers signing a Slovak though, not their normal type of player.

Very strange the Steelers signing a Slovak though, not their normal type of player. At this time of year, you pretty much have to take what you can get. We got lucky with Doucet (and the CHL helped us to bring Cohen back)... maybe Gerad Adams couldn't get the expected kind of player? As you say, though... Petruska looks like he could be decent, going by the stats. Stats don't always mean much, however... and Sheffield have to be hoping that's the case for their new goalie, because his do not impress. No way of telling, though... could be a total lemon, could end up being a superstar for them. Obviously I'm hoping it'll be lemonade time!

I gather that - despite the two new signings - it wasn't an inspiring performance by Sheffield against Coventry... out-shooting them 39-15, but only getting the winning goal in a 2-1 win with 3 seconds left to go in the game. Bigger test for them tomorrow against Cardiff.

So Sheffield go to the BBT and win 6-0. That's a hell of a result, perhaps overshadows our 4-0 win in Belfast?
And on Cardiff's twitter update feed "All Devilas at the mo, Steelers new goalie looks nervous"...then gets a shut-out.

Quite. A 36 shot shut out at the BBT. Check out the USA WJC teams he played on. Some serious names on that team sheet. Obviously he valued a Canadian college degree above a pro career until now. Steelers may well have a very good find on their hands.
