They've won their first game in the Continental Cup. Brilliant showing for the EIHL.

Good result, although you'd expect them to beat Tilburg I'd think.
Did the Dutch league survive in the end then? Looked a goner in the summer didn't it?

Good on them. The further the UK teams get in these competitions the better for the UK so all the best to them.

Ooh I bet some of the Giants fans would hate this thread,we are wishing them well this will never get the 'rivalry' going!
Good result in all seriousness although my memory of us playing Tillburg a few seasons back was they weren't amazing and had owls on their socks!

Belfast will have to watch out for Brendan Cook in the final game, 3 goals for Bremerhaven in game 1.

Good luck to them. I loved the living hell out of our participation last year, great to see another EIHL team making waves.

Hope they progress past this stage. Good luck to them. Representing the EIHL at the end of the day. I'd even wish Steelers luck.
(Until such time that the EIHL/UK Hockey is classed as one of the top places to play...).

Yes league is going ahead after some issues, however both Tilburg & Den Hag will join the German 3rd tier from next season. Not known yet if the Dutch will continue on with a league, but good to see the 2 strongest sides getting into a more competitive and stable setup.
Interestingly regarding the CC (for those that don't already know) the CHL is linked with the competition. From this season on the CC winners will now be given Wild Card entry in the CHL:

Lost the last game to the hosts, 4-2, but due to the withdrawal of the Ukrainians Kompanion Kiev from the semi final stage, they go through as the best of the 2nd places into group E in Angers, France.

Thanks for the kind words of support. Appreciate it, and yes it is good for our league to do well in Europe, Panthers representing the league in the CHL, and the Giants now progressing into the semi finals of the continental cup.
From looking at the groups, we have an easier one. The group in Italy looks much harder. I think with maybe some extra bodies, and I really think you need to roll with 4 lines, then perhaps we could sneak into the finals, the top 2 go through from each group. The Giants plan to bid to host the super final, if they do indeed progress.

Really well done to them. Doesn't matter how they got through, they got through that's all that matters!
Good luck in the next stage.
