Just a guess as an outsider, I can only assume it states "retire" to imply like the last time this happened, the club don't quite believe the player. As for it being around "replacement" my shot in the dark is to show frustration, you can always replace a player in terms of the space they take in the roster, but maybe not the exact role or position the player departing did, thus upsetting the balance & dynamics of the rest of the team assembled.

I seem to recall two of our pre season 'replacements' being Kowalski and Lepine! Sometimes these things don't turn out so bad.

I think the reason they are saying 'replacement' is so that people don't expect that Landry will be here long term.

I have a feeling with the short notice we may get another European.

Bearing in mind we have also just had a weekend I would say this announcementis quite sudden.

Who's put something in your coffee this morning lol
With what Dave has said and training believed to be next week I thought it would be harder to get visas etc for an America rather than a quicker option of getting a European. Just my opinion of course ...

3 month visas take minutes to process, no issue there.

Unfortunate for Ward, a shame we won't see him but still time to get in a replacement.
What's Lawrence done?

Don't think anyone knows. The club haven't said just stated he's picked up an injury in his preparation for the new season.

Are we cursed or something? We lost 180 man-games to injury during last season (league, Challenge Cup & Play-Offs, but not including Conti Cup) which was an insanely high total... are we trying to get a head-start this season in order to beat that?
