Great signing. It'll be a massive plus if we keep him until Xmas but wow. Looks like we're gonna throw some money at guys for the CHL

What im hoping is this guy is a keeper, tbh looks potentially the best of the d corps, hence why i don t think we ll hang onto him once the scouts turn up on the 22nd August, but id like us to cut Mosey (weakest) and use higgins as the dual national

So that makes 4 d pairings so far...not including Norts.

I did ask the question on another thread, do you think we would take extra players for the CHL on the basis is gets them fit and ready to go for the start of the USA season which doesn't start until Oct. Also it showcases them off to Europe if they're looking for a better contract. At least the extra players covers us for any potential injuries. Still think we may see another forward yet.

By all accounts he really struggled in the AHL before moving down to the ECHL, so maybe it's not entirely out of the realms of possiblity that he hangs around a touch longer.

Sounds great. Still no tough guy to act as a deterrent yet though........

Don't need an enforcer for the CHL do we? I thought any fighting last year when Riga came etc and it was an automatic game. Once the CHL is over and we have a better idea who is staying and who is going (only assuming we have to loose someone cos of the limit) Corey may decide to take on an enforcer roll. But we have seen in previous seasons most of these 'enforcer' guys don't last the season as there is no need for them.

I think people are getting confused about an out and out enforcer which is what we don't need and a Lepine/Salters type player that is a player first but regular enough fighter to make teams think twice about taking the urine when they play us and we don't really have a player of that mould yet.

Bang on the money. Landry looks a very decent signing to be fair.

Nice to see Panthers are adopting the "buy extra players" policy... Whether lose 1 or 2 after first 2 months, remains to be seen...
Being Greedy then, would like a goal poacher & a decent forward player who can "thrown his weight around" please Corey.
Then that certainly would be a season to look forward too, & an expensive one for me commuting from London trying to see as many games as poss!

You haven't even seen him play! Forgive me if I think that's a bit harsh. This is the issue with all pre-season talk - it's all just guessing before the action actually starts.

Well, we certainly won`t be short on defence this season! Looks as thought Corey is creating a very mobile, offensive D corps - either that or "parking the bus" and giving K wall a few nights off. It will be interesting to watch Corey`s tactics, he certainly seems to be taking an innovative approach and very different to the other teams recruitment - Cardiff, in particular, seem to be stacking the side with toughs.

seem to be stacking the side with toughs. Smart move by the devils, they need to put a entertaining team on the ice this season to build anticipation for next years move to their new home and their small rink is made for tough hard to play against players.

It's July, not a single player has even arrived in Nottingham and already people are wanting to axe players. He might be the world's worst ever ice hockey player or he could be the world's best. Until we see him how can you make a judgement call like that. What actually qualifies Mosey as the weakest player Pidge? I'm curious as to what you base your knowledge on.
