Details to follow from email newsletter. I'm guessing there won't be many players there. Kinda takes the fun away.

Would it be easier to email out when they're not having a game worn auction?

Ha ha, that is a good point. I like game worns and have three.I don't see why they have taken so long with this one. I imagine if it's a live auction somewhere it may be a small turn out. As my friend pointed out: 'it will be a night with Garry Moran and not much else'. I think Garry's ok but it does not appeal.
If I was the Panthers, I'd stick them all on ebay on a long auction.

Have to pay ebay fees then though Nate... I've nothing against game worns, I used to collect jerseys myself and have a ridiculous number of the things which I one day need to deal with, but for Panthers gamers they've really saturated the market, there's not really any value in them anymore. They're not particularly special when you see them, because everyone's got them.

I guess they are as valuable as the amount you are personally prepared to pay.
The Game Worn one I have from the league winning team holds more value to me than other shirts that I paid more for though.

My Billy Ryan playoff shirt was 450 odd quid when I bought it but I knew when I bought it I'd never get that amount of money back for it. However, sentimental issues mean I'll never sell it. Takes pride of place in my collection of shirts and I haven't bought a gamer since.
It's actually cheaper to sponsor a player and get a shirt that way.

There are only a few sponsorship opportunities available and often the key players go quickly. If you can get one it's the way forward.

I bought Matt Myers playoff jersey from the grand slam year. It was the jersey he wore in the final and i paid almost £400 for it. It turned out it was (or potentially not) his last jersey for panthers. So for rare seasons like that I was willing to pay that. All boils down to individual preferences on why and who's jersey they want.

From a personal perspective, of course, and ultimately that is all that matters I agree. But from a colder, resale view of it - and we do see a lot come up for resale, even on here - they don't maintain the value originally placed on them at all. They're a bit like new cars. Even the rarer ones seem to struggle.
