Wow! Did not see that coming.
Initial tweet:
Second tweet:
Twitter is ahead of the website as the full story isn't there yet.
Giants fans have been promised two bits of news today, if his replacement is the second piece I'd be shocked. If it was I think this was planned a while ago as coaches are hard to come by especially good ones.

Christiansen back to Giants? Clouthier?

Christiansen back to Giants? Clouthier? They'd be mad to take a Doug back and I think it would upset many of the fans. My money is on Cloutier.

G still has signed and/or been announced as coach for steelers yet ... could Giants look to spoil their party?

What a shock, its like a merry go round. Suppose its a good job that Corey has re-signed here or that would be another rumour.

Strange that the Belfast Giants themselves don't even mention the conference title in their press release. www.belfastgiants.com/archives/adey-moves-on/Seems that even those whose opinions actually matter in Belfast are a bit "meh" about it. (It does have it emblazoned on the top of their website though, so perhaps their web monkey is as delusional as their fans with regards to the value of self-purchased trophies.)

Surprised with the announcement, but can't see it being too long before both Giants find a new coach & Adey has a new team!
Can't see Cloutier taking over as Head Coach, I'd expect a new face coming in to take charge!

Hope to god adey comes to panthers. You know Neilson is set for next season right? He's more successful coaching wise than Adey. Are you saying you'd sack Neilson to make room?

The thing I find strange about Belfast is they seem to announce all these player re-signings and then dont have a coach. I always though the coach was the one that chose who to sign? or am I just being really naive?

They tend to have more of a NA set up from what I've been told, their GM does the majority of the hiring & the coach is left to coach! The coach identifies what's missing or needs changing & Kelman will go out & find it!

I always though the coach was the one that chose who to sign? or am I just being really naive? Very naïve indeed. Many players are signed by the GM's. Belfast would have known that Adey wasn't going to re-sign and couldn't risk loosing the players they have re-signed. They did it last year befor Adey signed and its no different really to players being on 2 year deals.

.....you really are a numpty aren't you and obviously pretty clueless too Not in the slightest. I merely remarked upon how the Belfast Giants management feel the need to speak of Adey's achievements (league win and two final chokes) and yet fail to mention what you and many of your fellow fans have been telling us is the fourth bit you need for a 'Grand Slam'. Clueless? Linger a little whilst looking in the mirror this morning for an answer to that.

When you look at the coaches & player coaches currently 'out of work' as such Adey Christiansen Cloutier
It really does make you wonder who will go where
Also what deal is Strachan on at Panthers as bench coach He was the coach at Hull a few seasons back

Strachan deserves a shot at a number one spot. I was hoping he'd be Corey's successor but a fresh room is often best when you make the jump.

What makes us clueless btw?
