If Stevie Lee does move to America, who would people like to see come in?
I guess a lot would depend on Jonathan Weaver returning, if he did, 4 Import D + Weaver/Norton would be fine, may be even a 7th D man, young Brit.
If Weaver and Lee both left, I guess we'd prefer a Richardson or O'Connor type established Brit for experience.
Looking at the GB D-men in the upcoming squad...
James Griffin - Seems to be progressing ok, would he leave Cov? Steve Lee - Deserves a shot in NA Sam McCluskey - Never really noticed him so unsure Danny Meyers - Personally, would prefer not to go back down the Meyers route, if he even wanted to come back that is Ben O’Connor - Seems to be doing well for himself, would he want to return to GB? David Phillips - Settled in Belfast? Kevin Phillips - Settled in Belfast? Mark Richardson - Would like to see him rejoin Paul Swindlehurst - Never really noticed him so unsure Jonathan Weaver - Would gladly see him back
A player who I thought played well on Saturday was Fifes Thomas Muir, although again I've never really noticed him which is the theme among the other Conference players and not seeing them very often, did he just raise his game for the Play Offs?
Thoughts?

4 import D is what we must have
If lee leaves i will be gutted but he does deserve a shot at NA.
Griffin - yes please McCluskey - no thanks Meyers - never want him back Ben O’Connor - yes please David Phillips - no thanks Kevin Phillips - never noticed him Mark Richardson - yes please Paul Swindlehurst - who? Jonathan Weaver - 1 more season but he has to have less ice time

Must have 4 import D...

I don't care who they are or where they come from, as long as they do what they're supposed to. If we could sign Richardson and Ben O'C, would we really need 4 imports? I'd suspect not. But we must have 4 import D....
And Swindlehurst/McCluskey were a half of the D of the Scottish Conference winners for about 2/3 of the season. Frankly, the feel good story of the season, for me.

I'd be surprised if our Brit d-pack alters at all. But yes we need 4 import D. As I've said numerous times this season, with Myers leaving and Farmer being abroad, we lost some Brit firepower up front so Corey added a import there. Hopefully keep our Brits now and add the extra import on defence

4 Import D essential.
Weaver. Yes, but at 37 maybe looking for a lucrative deal to sign off with. Will we pay it?
Norton. Yes, but with the limited ice time he has had this year, maybe he will want to try elsewhere.
Lee. Yes, but maybe wanting to try USA, Germany or even Italy.
If Brit pack needs topping up, Ben O'C, Richardson, Swindlehurst come to mind.

Start with a solid four import d (two stay at home, two offensive d, none of them an out and out fighter/enforcer) and slot whatever Brits are still available in around them.
If they sign a fighter/enforcer then make it a winger, a player they can cope with losing as a consequence of doing what he is paid to do without completely wrecking the pk. There is a reason why fighters/enforcers are generally wingers in more professional leagues!

Brit wise, I really like Sam Zajac. But mainly because he's feisty like a little terrier!

Swindlehurst and McCluskey got top honours this past season so must be doing something right. Was it best defence and u21 players in the awards?

Four import D is a must. We've got the keeper, let's give him a solid wall in front.

Swindlehurst is a definite want for me - could be the next big proper British defenceman in my opinion
A bit like Steve Lee, went under the radar for a long time when he first joined the EIHL but just keeps putting in solid preformances and rarely makes mistakes
